Deeper grooves on 2 sides, better than Dewalt!
originally bought the Dewalt package, which is really, really hard steel & it snapped in the hole. Now this is a really small screw in a lawnmower, holding the transformer in place that sparks the spark plug as the magnets float by, so I couldn't go bigger. Used a grinder to make an [X] on top center of hole & titanium impact bits from Harbor Freight to cut the initial hole & break bit.The larger grooves & some PB blaster, allowed the metals to collect as I turned the new tap, so I could screw unscrew, blow out/wipe & repeat, until the hole was clear for a new screw to go in.Dewalt's pack, just didn't have deep enough grooves for the metals & snapped when I was unscrewing, which was likely my fault. But this bit allowed me to go deeper, so it was quicker & a better choice for my project.

works the way its supposed to. Decent value.
I have been a machinist for over 20 years and this works fine on most mild steels and aluminum. always use a spiral point plug tap for through holes.

Tip broke
I am a machinist and I know what the small taps can take. The tip broke very easily but then I was able to grind the end flat and then it still cut threads

Poor Quality, You Get What You Pay For
I bought two of these and both of them snapped halfway through the tapping process. I had to spend some additional time removing broken tap pieces from the threaded hole.I was tapping 1/4-20 holes in mild steel (un-hardened). When these taps both failed, I scrounged around through my tool box and found an old tap and was able to complete the project with no further issues. In this case a low price definitely meant a low quality product.

Great!
Used this to chase threads on an old machine. Great fit, and good cut quality - didn’t oversize the threads as can sometimes happen.
