One awesome superhero film, one great Christmas film, plus two other movies, all in perfect 4K
Everyone knows Batman 1989 is a classic superhero movie, it's probably the point where most people saw the Dark Knight move away from the campy comic-book stylings into a dark, brooding to be taken seriously. It's hard to underestimate how much of a phenomenon it was at the time, golden Bat-symbols everywhere, everyone had a copy of the Prince soundtrack on vinyl, all the kids had the action figures and, if they were lucky, the Batmobile. People balked at the idea of Michael Keaton putting on the cowl but he more than proved everyone wrong. Danny Elfman's musical score is now iconic. 9/10Batman Returns is a weird film. It is certainly not a good Batman film. It's probably not even a good superhero film. It is however a great Tim Burton Christmas film. None of the characters resemble their comic-book counterparts, they here in name only. Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny DeVito absolutely steal the show, Batman is just a mere passenger in this ride. This one goes grim, even more so than its already dark predecessor. 8/10Batman Forever is not as bad as I remembered, but it certainly isn't good. We're halfway between the Tim Burton broodiness and the 60's Adam West camp, all bathed in vivid neon lights and shiny surfaces. Jim Carey and Tommy Lee Jones both ignore the characters they're playing and instead both give their own Joker interpretations. Val Kilmer is fine but unmemorable as Batman, Chris O'Donnell plays Robin as a whiny teenager, though one in his mid-20s, complete with some terrible lines. One positive, an underrated thing about this movie (and Batman & Robin) is Elliot Goldenthal's musical score with a memorable main theme. 5/10Batman and Robin is a bad, bad movie. It almost qualifies for 'so bad it's good' but misses the mark with too much bad. The movie opens with a suit-up montage with unabashed close-ups of rubber clad bums, crotches and nipples and goes downhill from there. George Clooney is bored, Chris O'Donnell is still a whiny teen but in his late 20's now. Alicia Silverstone only read the script that morning and Arnold is having his own fun delivering the worst ice-related puns you'll ever hear. Uma Thurman's emulates Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman for her take on Poison Ivy but does so with uncharacteristically poor delivery, although there's probably no good way to deliver those lines. 3/10The Boxset itself is great. It presents each film in its own full sized case, and 4K & HD blurays of each film. I wish they'd used the original posters for each cover but what we've got instead isn't too bad. The 4K transfers are absolutely top notch, reference quality. No artificial processing, no grain/detail removal, no over sharpening, no obnoxious colour regrading - everything looks detailed, natural and filmic with a healthy but not distracting layer of grain. The HDR is punchy, the bright neons pop against the perfect black shadows. The Dolby Atmos mixes are great also, everything sounds clear, well positioned and dynamic.Highly recommended if you're a fan of two or more of these movies. The technical quality of all four of these films is as good as you'll get on the format.

Xmas present
4K Batman and lavish colours and sound, with Michael keaton as the first batman.. Yessss and Michelle Pfeiffer as CatWoman yes please and then some. My only criticism is the sound on catwoman first time she talks once she's changed into catwoman. I remember her words would gently echo across the speakers in a stereo type of way and on this one it didn't. Strange as it was one of the first movies to use Dolby Digital or Dolby AC-3 other than that all movies look fantastic and even tho cheesy i like them.

A mixture of 1 good film and some are OK the last one is awful of that era.
This is a Batman boxset and features Batman Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. The later Batman's feature different actors playing the Batman role, while the earlier films have Michael Keaton in the lead role as the crime-fighting caped crusader batman. I will give you my individual scores for each of these films, Batman 1989 ( 4/5 ) probably the best from the original era of batman films. Batman Returns 2/5.it was Ok to watch with some good moments and good to see Michael Keaton back as Batman. Batman Forever 2/5 another Ok Batman film featuring colourful characters and a different style of Batman with Val Kilmer as the Batman character. It features Tommy Lee Jones as one of the villain's Two Face, which was one of the better parts of the film. And lastly Batman and Robin 1/5 it was just a awfully made film but had a great cast in it at the time George Clooney as a younger actor for Batman and then you had Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr Freeze main villain. Arnold Schwarzenegger by this point was at the later part of his career and roles were not not easily come across for him as he was aging. I believe these HD discs feature the same special features as the 2 disc DVDs they made quite a few years ago to replace the old Warner Bros flipper discs.
