For long term use this is the one!
No comparison between this chair and the cheap one we were using. If you are going to need one every day for long-term care it's worth it to spend the extra dollars and get the extra features: it's well made with sturdy construction, rolls easily on hard or soft surfaces, all wheels can be locked in place, arms can be moved up and out of the way for easier transfers, the footrests are removable, the split front seat is easier for male use, bucket slides out of the way for use over a toilet. The seat is not necessarily soft, but it's definitely not as hard as the seat on a regular toilet.Overall this toilet has made our lives as caregivers a little easier and we've had no complaints from the person who has to use it!

This is NOT 24 1/2” wide!
It is 26”. That’s my only complaint/ disappointment. The box was patched and beat up but the chair was super bubble wrapped and in perfect condition. I didn’t need instructions (thought the pamphlet was advertising) because everything was similar to my wife’s manual. She’s 5’2” and not on the lowest setting. And it could be adjusted to fit me at 6’. All I needed was the included Allen wrench. The customer service team was outstanding!

Slip Sliding Away!!
This is a horrible product. I have MS and have been looking for a self-propelled shower wheelchair for my new roll-in shower. I wanted the ability to roll over the toilet, shower safely, and propel myself to and from the shower independently. First of all, the seat is incredibly uncomfortable. I spent about 15 minutes on it and my butt hurt. The big wheels are made of hard plastic, not rubber. They don't grip the floor and just end up spinning, they behave even worse on the uneven floor of a roll-in shower. Lastly, the wheelchair does not fit over the toilet. The problem with it wasn't clearing the height of the toilet. Mine is 17"and it would have fit...barely. The problem was with the width. My toilet is 15" wide, but the wheelchair is only 14.25" because of bolts that are located on the inside of the frame. Keep looking...this is an expensive chair and doesn't do what it is supposed to do.

Absolutely wonderful!
Oh, my goodness! This is a real godsend! It is lightweight, easy to maneuver, comfortable, and fits over any height toilet reducing the cost of having to replace a toilet. Its a breeze to get into even a small modified roll-in shower. I bought one not only for my disabled adult son, but also for my elderly cousin. Both are extremely satisfied and highly recommend this Shower/Commode Mobile wheelchair.

ETA- got brakes in a good spot. Tricky tho
ETAEDIT: Finally got the brakes to work. Not ideal, but.Much better.Bought this chair since it was similar to a regular chair; my mom doesn’t do well with new and differently shaped chairs, and we wanted something she’d feel comfortable using. The chair itself seems like it’ll be fine for just showers. But if you don’t want to/can’t replace brakes, don’t purchase. Also, the assembly instructions are adequate, but super vague. Trial and error on the wheels.

Buy this chair and make your life better
We've used this chair every day for months and it has made my 91 year old Mother's live much easier. Our bathroom has a elevated height toilet and the chair fits perfectly above the toilet with the toilet seat up. This feature means we are not emptying the included waste pan, just flush the toilet. The chair is used in the curb-less shower and the quality paint finish shows no signs of rust or corrosion. It still looks brand new. The swivel wheels make for easy turning in tight spaces and lock tightly. The arms are the widest part of the chair and their rubber-like cushioning protect walls and doorways. My Mother is small so we did remove the leg supports and added a belt. I highly recommend this chair, it is designed and built well. I now find myself looking to "Drive Medical" when shopping for medical equipment.

Less than a year, the wheels stop steering.
Well made, easy to steer, sturdy, but the front seat cut-out gap is too big. My mother's leg got caught in between the gap.Less than a year, the wheels stop steering. Difficult to steer it to the direction you want to move. Each caster with leg cost $98.29 cents to replace. 4 of them is going to cost almost $400.00. I have to change it from a 5 stars to a 2 stars.
