Great gift for spy obsessed 7 year old
Purchased for my nephew for Christmas and this was his favorite gift. He did most of the assembly on his own but did need a little help getting the wires to stay put. Just be warned you’ll probably have an alarm going off quite often, hiding around the house in different places for the first few hours haha

Not for 6 Years Old
My 11 year old was very annoyed that the box says ages 6 years and up. The wiring is clearly not for 6-year-olds. I did find wiring the springs fairly intuitive as an adult but would not expect a kid to be able to set this up on his own. It was actually easier than I expected once I analyzed the instructions. The motion detector works very well and detects from a good distance. This set is definitely a good showcase of technology. I would call it a mini kids Arduino board without the programming. Well maybe Arduinoesque.

SpyX DIY Listener is a toy that teaches as well as entertains.
“Toys” have come a long way since I was knee-high to a grasshopper growing up on the family farms. Today, toys like this one, the SpyX DIY Listener, not only provide the young person with hours of fun, they teach the child some real-world skills.I received this “toy” for free to evaluate and review. STEM toys intrigue me, so I was the first one to play with this one. I spent a few hours assembling, disassembling, and reassembling this listening device. It worked flawlessly every time. It was time to give the secret agent man in my family, my eight-year-old great-grandson, a shot at it.What I like about these STEM toys, they are safe. These are real electronic circuits involved here, but the circuits operate off three AAA batteries. There’s no chance of getting an electrical shock. This “toy” can also promote father-son interaction or mother-son interaction.

Not for a 7 year old
Wasted gift for my 7 year old nephew for Christmas. Wiring is very difficult to put together and the pieces didn’t stick on the platform very well

More of a assembly project than a spy tool
This is really more so a cool project/challenge for your kids to put together than it is a spy tool - voice changer... It kinda works but is cheesy. Kids toy mostly lol. Get it as gift for your lil ones.

4 out of 10
Item was good and easy to put together but the wire was so cheap they would barely hold on to each other

Pretty cool!
I ordered this for my 7yo and all the kids ended up being interested in it. my 12 and 10yo hovered around the kitchen table and helped him the entire time; otherwise I am almost certain an adult help would have been needed. It works and the alarm is loud. The kids think it's a hoot!

Frustrating for 9 year old grandson
This was a Christmas present for my 9 year old grandson. He was excited when he opened it. It was hard to put together (had my help 1st, then his father worked to put it together). My grandson got frustrated & put it aside. Almost a month later, he hasn't mentioned it, let alone played with it. Don't recommend it, waste of money.
