Very pretty addition to my yard.
This is the cutest fountain! I don't have a picture, but it works great. The solar power seems to hold up well even though in Ohio it has been cloudy & rainy...and I don't use it every day because of the bad weather. It has several different interchangeable fountain heads you can pick from for a variety of sprays. Easy to pop on & off. But the bigger the spray, the faster the water is used up in the container. I have a big (10 inch) plastic pot I put my fountain in. Put rocks in the bottom & get a few water plants that float, and you're all set! Great value for the price.

Very efficient, simple and powerful.
Before buying, I checked out all the complaints and was concerned that only half of the ratings were 5 star.I was not expecting too much right out of the box because it was a cloudy evening just after sunset and the yard was shaded by a big tree. It started as soon as I put it into the birdbath and continued operating for the next couple of hours until total darkness. I attributed this to the battery. The next morning at five o'clock in the dark gray of predawn, barely light out, there it was pumping away. This scenario continued everyday since.Apparently, in this latest model, the solar cells are extremely sensitive to any kind of light. The back yard only has direct sunlight between 7 AM and 2 PM then shaded the rest of the day. But the pump works from predawn to post dusk. The wind will drain the bird bath in short order, but all you have to do is put on a less aggressive nozzle.Cleaning is very simple but I had to check some videos how to disassemble it to clean it. They should have included this in the printed instructions.I was amazed at the power of this very small pump and the simplicity of it's design. The impeller is actually a very small powerful magnet. After 3 days it had to be cleaned and surprised how dirty the water got from the birds. The water should be changed every morning so you don't have to clean the pump every few days. The suction cups on the bottom are useless in my birdbath. They are best suited for very smooth and flat glass bottomed birdbaths. I used some decorative rocks to keep the pump centered in the birdbath.Overall I am pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the simple operation and efficiency of this pump.

More Durable Than I Expected
I've used this for two full summers, and this is the beginning of my third year of ownership. The good: My bird bath gets full sun in the morning until about 11:00. That's it. After 11:00 it's in full shade. Despite this, the fountain works into the early afternoon before it starts to cycle on and off as it cuts off to recharge the battery, then turns on and runs for a minute or two before shutting off again. Today, since it was fully charged, it ran all day and didn't shut off until sundown. The bad: The fountain works a little too well. If you don't have a self filling bird bath like I do, expect to have to refill your bird bath multiple times on windy days, or to have it just "bubble" the water by not using a nozzle to keep it from spraying the water so high. I wish they had provided nozzles with bigger holes. When I first got it my bird bath was not yet self filling. I tried it out on a very windy day and it took all of 5 minutes before the bird bath was drained!More bad? The fountain easily clogs. Expect to have to clean it on a regular basis. If you are refilling your bird bath by hand this shouldn't be a big deal. But if you're using this in a pond or something that doesn't have the purest of water, expect frequent clogs. Mine needs to be cleaned about once a week from the grass clippings that manage to land in my bird bath when I mow the lawn. The ugly: The fountain doesn't seem to like sitting up over winter. After the first winter it took several hours to start working again. This year it took a week to decide to start working again. I *almost* chunked it and bought a new one, but procrastination saved the day. :)

Works - but not great for bird baths in my opinion
I'm returning this item.Pros: Super easy to assemble, Solar works just fine, pump seems to work just fine as well.Cons: The pump shoots too high up for a bird bath and basically the water blows right out. The suctions don't stick well. I fill up my bird bath in the morning and within 2 hours, all the water's out and it needs to be refilled because when the suction released, the fountain floated near the end and just shoots all the water out. Also, I didn't see a single bird use it when the water was pumping - it's more for decoration and to keep the water moving to keep mosquitos from nesting than anything else in my opinion. If I had a pond or a large pool that I wanted it in, then it'd be good - but for a bird bath, doesn't work for my needs - so returning it to Amazon.

Too much water flow for a bird bath
The media could not be loaded. I opted for the 3.5 pump as opposed to a 2.5 feeling like it would work better. I loved the thought of the different heads and the different ways you could use them for different effects. Unfortunately none of those work well for a bird bath. It's too much water and just splashes out no matter what combination of heads I use. The water goes up in the air and hits the edge of the bird bath and then splashes so you don't even get a nice tinkling water sound. The battery was supposed to work for 3 to 5 hours after the sun went down if it has been in full sunlight all day. I find that it works closer to 3 to 5 minutes! The instructions indicate you should clean the pump and impeller every two to three weeks but even using bottled water in an area that's not around trees somehow little hairs get wrapped around the impeller so you really have to clean it every 2 or 3 days because it just stops working. It's not hard to clean but it's a lot of maintenance.

Tough little pump will handle winter freezes and keep going
There are a million of these little solar-powered fountains for sale here, but I've had this one for two winters now and I have to say I'm impressed with its longevity. The first winter I brought it inside from the elements to protect it, then this past winter I forgot it until it was too late and we'd already had several freezes. It stayed outside for a full Ohio winter and is still working this spring!
