Innova5310 OBD2 Scanner for ABS & Airbag (SRS) with Battery/Alt Test, Oil Light Reset, Live Data for 1996-2023 Vehicles, Accurate, Reliable, Easy to Use, iPhone & Android App Included

I decided to finally upgrade from my $40 scanner I bought from Amazon about 5 years ago and went with this scanner. First off it’s very affordable for the features it comes with. I’ve seen reviews of people saying it’s difficult to use and what not. For me it was fairly simple. Yes, it was a bit of a learning curve but not difficult by any means. It will read engine, transmission and Abs codes. My favorite feature is the ability to connect to an app on your phone which lets you really see the different possible fixes for your code as well as it give you links to where you can buy the parts you need to fix your issue. You can see live data, but the best feature I found was you could get a vehicle history report through the app for only $10 which is much cheaper than car fax. For someone who flips cars that is an amazing affordable feature. I still have yet get a good use out of it, but from what I’ve seen it is a great product 100% recommend.

This tool works great. Its easy to use interface shows realtime data and extended OBD data, such as brakes and transmission information. It also pairs with an App on an iPad to give in-depth analysis and repair solutions. Very pleased.

The 5310 is very lite weight and easy to handle when working in the floor of my vehicles. Screen is very bright and easy to read. Cable is more than long enough to stand and review the data while connected. My one complaint is no paper quick start guide. It is difficult to read the online manual while connected via Bluetooth to the 5310. Flipping between the 5310 app and the online guide is a challenge when starting up and, especially, when accessing advanced features. I was pleased to find the 5310 would reset my minor error codes (gas cap issue).

This review covers my initial impression of the Innova 5310. I haven't had the opportunity to use it for an actual diagnosis and repair. The unit is well-built and has clearly readable messages on the display. The manual is well written with both a good overview of OBDII and clear directions and illustrations. I performed the first update and the directions are easy to follow and everything worked as described; it supports both Mac and Windows. This wasn't the case with a competing brand that I first bought - updates were a study in solving computer problems and the manuals were minimal. The user interface - the display and the buttons - is a little clunky but not bad and easy enough to learn. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. This review will be updated when I have an opportunity to do actual repair and monitoring with the 5310.

The manufacturer’s app installation and setup was straight forward. The reader connected right out of the box and it gave a clear diagnosis of the engine light that was on. Definitely worth the money

Good enough for small jobs.

I'm a do it your selfer and I looked at several of these code readers and reviews for them. This fit my needs perfectly and combined with the app and all the information it gives has impressed me very much. I wholeheartedly recommend this for someone who likes to work on their own stuff. Great price and I'll value this for a long time to come.

Worked one time, then broke. Poor customer support. Do not buy this.I purchased in 2022 and used once to diagnose a problem. After that, it went back in the box and sat on the shelf until now (2025) when I needed it to troubleshoot another problem. The scanner does the "flash of death" and flashes all the LEDs and the screen about 1x/second as pictured. I updated the software, but no improvement - it's dead. Customer support was very slow and offered no support - only that I could send in for repairs for about 60% of the purchase price, which is unacceptable. You're better off buying a scanner that's priced as more "disposable" and you won't waste so much time / money on this one. beware!!!
