Soft close, safe close
I have used these hinges on several projects. Toy box, wedding memory box, treasure chest and I will use them on any other box that comes up! Very kid friendly.

Work well, attractive, do your calculations for required torsion
I have used 3 of these hinges for a puzzle table/coffee table that I'm building and they work as advertised. The tabletop that I made is very heavy, so I used 3 of the 60lb torsion hinges. They certainly hold the lid open, but I would need another for them to operate as a soft close hinge. I'm happy with holding the lid for closing as using another hinge would make it too hard to lift the lid. Run your calculations (lid weight in pounds X distance to centerline of lid then divide that number by the torsion rating of this hinge) and double check your arithmetic. For my table my calculations are: 17 pounds x 15 inches = 255 inch pounds of torque on the hinge. I bought the 60 pound torsion hinges, so the total number of hinges needed to be fully soft closing would be: 255/60 = 4.25 hinges. Round up to 5 hinges total. I like how the lid is supported with three of them. If you have small children that could be hurt by a closing lid, then go with the 5 hinges in the above example. For my 22 year old daughter, it is perfect.

Let’s be clear on one thing
Used the 60 lb. hinges for a toy box lid. The part I didn’t find anyone mentioning is that after the hinges are fastened to the back and lid, there will be a 1/2” gap in the front. In order to have the lid close completely flush, you will need to inset the hinges on the rear of the toy box.I used some rubber bumpers on the front legs to make it appear it was designed with the 1/2” gap as I was press for time. I would have inset the hinges to make the closing flush in the front.Very sturdy feeling hinges but will see how they hold up over time.

Worked perfectly as expected by description
Upcycled an old cedar chest that had one hinge that I wouldn’t trust losing a digit if it shut on your hand(or your head). Found out the tarnished hardware was actually copper and opted to spray paint the hinges that were burnished bronze, a bright copper! Love it and the hinges are safer for anyone! My only comment would be that I had a small challenge finding the calculator that determined what size was needed. I made a calculated guess by looks and description of the hinge and guessed correctly. You can’t find these in local hardware stores so thank goodness for Amazon!

It works great and looks good!
It saved a lot of work on my part, I didn't need the extra lid support, and I also didn't need the jig required for the original hinges that I had purchased.

They work!!!
The two hinges held the toy-chest lid in place with no trouble at all. Highly recommend these if you’re looking for something that’s clean looking and easy to install. They can be installed either flush mount or with an overhang. The hinges also hold the lid at any angle, which is very important because the lid will not drop on kids fingers.

It does a really good job until it about 6 inches from closing then ...
I ordered two but I should have gotten 3. It does a really good job until it about 6 inches from closing then it just falls. If I order another one it should fix the problem.

Won’t last
Split after less than 2 years of medium duty indoor use. Pretty disappointing
