TotalBoatTotalStrip Fast-Acting Heavy Duty Gel Paint and Varnish Remover - No Methylene Chloride or NMP (1 Gallon)

This is some pretty good stuff. I put this on a 1993 Sea Cat power catamaran with two layers of bottom paint, and it loosened both layers up good. The key is to put it on pretty thick, cover it with the cheapest saran wrap you can find and let it sit for a few hours. I put on a thick coat, covered it and let it sit for four hours and both coats came right off. By you a long handled scraper from Home Depot or Lowes and it will scrape right off.

Took off paint from 1994, no damage to the boat paint either. The boat had hand painted letters on it and it took about 3-4 coats to completely remove it but it came off really well. Not much fumes either, I was impressed.

Dried out faster then I thought it would can only let it sit for couple of hours...

Exactly as advertised

Save your time and money. This product does not work as advertised. I applied the thickest coat recommended, covered with plastic, let stand for 24 hours . Result was some of the one coat of paint “softened” . The amount of time and effort to scrub the paint off was far more then if you sanded it from the start. I was very surprised that this product is even for sale, it absolutely does not do what the advertised description says.

Used on automotive clear coat and paint. Worked as advertized when other strippers failed.

I tried this on some deck paint and then some anti foul later. I found it ineffective no matter how thick it was applied. It does make the paint somewhat soft but you are still talking about multiple applications and scraping sessions. I love total boat, but this is a dud.

Stripping the hull of my boat project. Not sure what was on the hull but this stuff didn't touch it. Followed all directions. I'm a fan of total boat but not much luck with this. Ended up at the media blaster.
