Easy Ice cream
I love this product to make ice cream at home. It's so easy and I can add fresh fruit or chocolate chips. I used this during our family reunion for our household. Each box makes approx. 2 quarts. I used it in my Cuisanart ice cream maker and in less than 30 minutes we were enjoying ice cream. This brand has been around for generations and I am so glad I could get it from Amazon. The price was a little high, but I didn't mind buying for special occasion. Sometimes I can find it at the grocery store, but it sells out fast in warmer months. I have recommended Junket many times to friends and tell them just go to Amazon.

Not Bad!
I've been playing around with ice cream mixes to see how I can make ice cream using just a blender without the need to cook the base.I did some research and found a number of mixes you can buy with Junket being the one people remember as kids since the company's been around since 1874.I bought a pack of Very Vanilla, Simply Strawberry, and Dutch Chocolate to see the quality of ice cream these mixes make.First, if you want to make ice cream in a blink of an eye Junket will work for you!Place the mix and1 1/4 cups milk and 3/4 cup cream into a blender, blend for a minute or two, and you're done. Junket says you can now churn the ice cream. However, looking at the ingredients Junket uses Guar Gum and locust bean gum which I find odd. Locust Bean Gum needs heat to hydrate and this is a no-cook mix/base. Why not just use Guar Gum or a mixture of CMC and Guar? And Gura Gum takes 5 to 10 minutes to hydrate so you should wait a bit before churning.I mix up a batch of Very Vanilla and then placed it in my frig overnight. The next morning I reblended the mixture and then churned.Since this mixture has no emulsifiers it's best eaten as a soft serve. As such it is extremely sweet. It reminds me of the ice cream we'd get at Dairy Queen as kids. But overall all not bad. Note I only wanted to buy a package of each but buying a set of 6 was cheaper. One thing to note is the package says it makes a quart of ice cream. It does NOT! It makes a little under 3/4 of a quart, at least when using a home ice cream machine with an overrun of 25%. To get 1 quart you would need an overrun of 75% and that ain't gonna happen with home ice cream machines.

Yummy!
I was pleasantly surprised how yummy this mix is. I was leery at first buying a powdered homemade ice cream mix. It was creamy and did not have the artificial flavor I was fearful of at all. I'm not sure which flavor is my favorite. They're all so yummy.

Better than a Frosty
The double chocolate tasted better than a Wendy's Frosty. Place cylinder in freezer overnight. Mix ingredients as directed and place in refrigerator overnight. Follow directions on the freezer. Ours took about 45 min. Good stuff.
