The top and bottom shells of the new 3ds xl are very scratch and peel prone. This case helps to protect it from the elements while still giving you a clear view of the outside of your system! It's made of a clear hard plastic, you have to apply some pressure to get it to snap on the system, but once it's on it's not going anywhere. Very happy with my purchase!

You have to make sure you get it all the way on. It makes a pretty noticeable snap noise at least when I got mine on after having it partially hanging off for a few days. So it fits snug and I haven’t dropped it but it feels pretty solid. I got this so it would protect my stickers I plan on putting on my 3DS. I recommend this to anyone that wants to have a little extra protection for their new 3DS XL
