bench top water boiler works well.
I have had this bench top water boiler for three years now. It works well for drinking hot tea, or using it to heat a pitcher full of water to make iced tea with. I am very happy with it.

Well designed, excellent manual pump, awful quality
I've had the pot for a couple of weeks. We had similar pots in the past and used them elsewhere, so I have a few points of reference. First off, the user interface, i.e. the few buttons to control the pot are very well placed and marked. This has not been the case with the other pots. It's important as if you accidentally press "dispense" you may have a problem. The dispensing is done in one of three ways. There is big, lighted, different shape and placed very separately from other buttons the Dispense button on the top. Then there is a button under the spout, so that you could just press the cup against it to dispense. Finally, there is a manual pump. The pump is excellent. You can fill very quickly a full cup with a single push most of the time. As the water level in the pot drops, the jet pressure drops too, but still it is way better than other pots we used. You still can fill the entire cup with a single push, but you will have to wait longer as the stream gets weaker. Pumping it twice fills up a cup very quickly even with the nearly empty pot. Very impressive. The other two buttons are Boil and Lock. The latter disables all electric functions which is useful, for example, if you have small kids. While locked, the manual pump still operates and the water is kept hot.Addendum October 2023We bought two of these pots over the past 12 mo. The first one is still working, barely. We used it less than once a week only and currently it tends to go into the boil mode and not come out of it or goes in and out of boil often and randomly. The second pot completely failed within a month (just went dead) and we returned it for a refund. So, if you want a disposable pot for a few month, this pot might be the ticket.November '23Changed to a single star. A few dots on the metal bottom of the lid, which is presumably made of stainless steel, have grown into large rust spots. That's "stainless" steel for you. I guess it does not matter much by now as the pot is pretty much dead as I described above.

Hot Water All Day! (Bought a 2nd to give as gift)
The unit arrived quickly. It has a sleek, functional design with that complements my kitchen. It is really easy to set up - just plug 🔌 in power cord to the unit and wall. It heats up the water quickly and keeps it hot for a longgg time which is great for households that love hot tea, coffee, or cup of noodles throughout the day. It has an easy to use lockable lid and large easy to press buttons to boil and to dispense hot water. Happy with the purchase so far!Update 11/2024: This product is still going strong with daily use. Still very happy with this purchase. Shortly after I purchased this, I bought a second one to give as a gift. Some features I didn’t comment on include the easy to detach power cord which is helpful when cleaning. Also, a sturdy handle to lift and carry to the sink for refills.

Great product for boiling water.
Great product for boiling water. I like it a lot.I have used it for more than a year now. It can boil a whole pot of water easily. It may take a while but does get there. It maintains the temperature very well. The mineral scales can be easily cleaned with some vinegar. Highly recommended.

I don't regret buying it, but I'll be looking elsewhere for a replacement.
I made this purchase nearly 3 years ago, and just had to throw away the product. After the replacement of the initial faulty one that I received, it mostly worked well for nearly 3 years, and that's why I'm so giving it 3 stars. The first one I received would empty the contents upon boiling, which was very dangerous. I contacted Chefmate's customer support, who assured me this was not normal and that I should contact Amazon for a replacement. Amazon gave me a hard time on that, but I did eventually get a different one that worked as expected. It heats the water to boiling, then keeps it warm, just under boiling. We've used it for tea, cocoa, soup, really everything that we could have. After a few months I noticed that the water would get rust- colored. So I started emptying and rinsing every week to avoid that getting out of hand. It was still usable, and as long as I periodically emptied the water I didn't notice anything off about the taste. This morning I woke up to a wet counter top and hardwood floor. I initially thought it must have expelled some water, like when I'd first received the other one. I went to move the appliance, and the shell of the body came completely off of the base, with the exception of wires and the hose/pump. I open it to look inside, and the parts touching the metal vessel had melted away. It seems that the water around the appliance might have been from steam condensing and running out the sides of the appliance, but I can't confirm that. It was quite a bit of water, but maybe it could all be explained without it having expelled water from the pump on its own.I made sure everything was unplugged, added ice to cool down the water to a temperature that wouldn't send me to the ER if it spilled on me, and proceeded to dump the tank and dispose of the item.If this had simply stopped working this morning, I probably would have given it 4 stars. If it stopped working and hadn't had issues with rust, it would have gotten 5 stars. Since it malfunctioned in a way that could have caused serious injury to my family, I can't give it more than 3 stars, even though it served its job for nearly 3 years. I'll be looking elsewhere for a replacement.
