I'm going to speak for southern California's VERY hard and chemical-filled water.You need to replace knobs and faucets every two years- max. You will see how the water eats away the finish on your fixtures before that- but what you don't see on the outside is even worse. The crusty hard buildup adds up on the inside, and once you get to the point where you have a drip you can't shut off no matter how tightly you turn the knob, you have a big problem awaiting you on the in there. But first, you will have to take it apart- and good luck with that! Your center screw will probably strip before it turns, no matter how much CLR or WD40 you prime it with first. EVERYTHING gets fused together, mostly with the calcium, flouride, and lime buildup. You will probably need to drill the screw out. Then, you'll still have a big struggle to seperate the parts. You'll be hitting it, trying to crack the hard-as-rock sediment apart. And you will need an L-shaped tool that isn't in the kit- Home Depot will know just what that is, so buy it and save it for future replacement jobs.You might want to just hire a plumber at this point, because you'll be frustrated, and your hands and arms will hurt.**Next time, change out everything yearly!** Before this happens, because it WILL.Aside from all that- this set is universal for all the 3-knob (hot, cold, and twist-up diverter in the middle) bathtub faucet sets. Most of us will have no idea what brand we have, but if it looks like this, it's probably the right set. My place was built in 1978, that's all I know. I've had to replace these in my 2 bathrooms many times in 24 years. I always wish I hadn't waited so long. If you do it regularly, it's easy to do and you won't need a plumber. Just put the parts together in the same order they are in when you take the old ones out (if you can still make out what that is!). And don't forget to turn off the water to the house first!

I bought this set after completely losing cold water in my tub/shower. My house was built in 1985, and it appeared that the original stems were still in the house. The replacement stems went on without issue, and I now have cold water again. YAY! From start to finish took about 45 minutes, and that even included having to cut off one of the old stems with a hack saw. This set comes with all the parts you need to completely replace your stem valves.I would advise picking up a seat wrench. The kit comes with replacement seats, and a seat wrench is only a few bucks. Also, pay close attention to the type of nipple flanges you have installed on your tub/shower. This kits comes with a circle flange, but my tub had oval flanges due to a small second hole that was used to adjust water pressure. I had to order Danco #86571 Flange for Price Pfister in Chrome to finish the job and ensure the second small hole was covered. They were less than $6 each on Amazon so no big deal.

This package came with almost everything I needed to repair the leaky hot valve. The only tool not included is the seat wrench which you’ll need to buy separately. I ended up replacing the cold and diverter stems as well given how bad of shape the hot valve was in. All parts went in fine. Excellent kit that saved the day!Update on 9/18/2022 - Rubber washer on hot water valve failed. Water started leaking again. Replaced the unit with a new one from Home Depot.

Working great

I bought this in August of 2024 but only installed it in December of 2024. Therefore, I cannot claim a return from Amazon. Once installed, it lasted for 1 month before it went all downhill. Spend a little bit more of money for a real Pfister and save some money in the long run. The hot water faucet started screeching like hell. The washer system of this kit is of a lower quality. You have been warned. An honest customer.

I need to return item

My original faucet knob broke off prior to ordering this kit. The water in my area is very harsh and over the years it slowly started to rot the original valves. So I decided fix the issue myself. First things first, I turned off the water line before installing these. Then I followed the diagram on the back of the box. Please note you must tighten the valve before screwing in the knob so it’s not loose or “squeaky”. I had to go back and fix of them after I realize that mistake I made. Once it’s was installed, I tested it and tada!

This was the perfect kit for our tub/shower combo. I knew ours was Price/Pfister but not much else.Thought I would take a chance and order this one. Everything fit great and really dressed up the faucet system.I was able to do the install myself. There is a "socket" included but you will need one more tool to do the inner-most brass fitting.
