I do little jobs around the house as any homeowner tends to do. A lot of hanging up shelves and stuff, really. That doesn't mean that I don't love giving myself excuses to get the coolest tools possible. Laser levels, digital stud finders, and now this digital level. It's just such a cool gadget that I've already made extensive use of.Even without turning it on, this 10-inch digital level works like any other bubble level, lay it on the surface of whatever you're trying to level, check the bubbles and you can tell how far off you are. What makes this such a cool device is that it comes with super strong magnets built-in that really helps in a lot of situations. It keeps the tool securely attached to the thing you're working with, leaving your hands free to work and stabilize the thing.The digital part of this tool adds another dimension to its usefulness. In fact, as you can see in the picture, the floor of my room is .25 degrees off from level. I've yet to learn all the features of the buttons, but I make a lot of use of the hold button. I take an angle measurement and freeze it so that I have time to record the value on my work sheet. When I have more time, I'll check out some of the other modes.What I like about the screen is that it is bright enough to see in daytime and that the numbers are large and easy to read. So far, this tool is definitely the best level I've ever owned and I'm quite happy with my purchase.

The magnets in this level are really strong, when they are pressed up against metal. Found out that something wasn't necessarily metal and when I let go, this did fall pretty hard on some concrete. However, the level itself wasn't damaged and the digital part of this still works. Not to mention, the fall didn't effect the level tubes either. The other thing I love about this level is that no matter if I have this right side up or upside down, the screen will always have the readings normally displayed. No having to turn my head to make sure I'm reading anything correctly. I get a more precise reading, especially when I'm at different angles which has give me more precise cutting and measuring. The case is the bonus and really does keep it protected when I have this stored away.

UPDATE. When you turn this thing on if its lying on its back, or at any angle in the "Z" axis, it wil say "Erro". I assumed it was bad, it wasn't, so other than that it seems to work OK for an inexpensive digital level. -Used once, worked fine. 2nd use gets "error" message when turned on. Tried removing the batteries to reset, no change. Discovered the problem 1 day outside return window.

The media could not be loaded. Love that this level takes the guesswork out with the digital display. It's sturdy and well made. I also found it useful that this was magnetic while doing a plumbing project recently, it made a 2 person job into a one person job.

The media could not be loaded. This is a handy and very cute Little tool to have around the home. It's easy to read, the magnet let's me pause to record readings mid task, and it fits into my finely organized junk drawer.

The device simply turned off and did not turn on again... This happened a couple of times before, I took out the batteries, put them back, and it turned on, not the first time, but turned on. This time it just turned off in the middle of the work day! And I needed the level!I think it is wrong to give 1 star, since this is most likely a manufacturing defect and the device itself is quite good, my colleague has the same one and it works. So buy at your own risk, I decided not to risk again and try another brand.
