Not nearly as bad as some would have you believe
This set has sharp crisp points. Ideal for stich pick up! I couldn't disagree more that the joints on them catch on yarn. Mine do no such thing. They stay tight if properly tightened. The point protectors work even if all you want to do is change cables mid stride. I am no beginner, I have had many needles since I was 7 years old. These actually work. Knit Denise needles are made in America, and I tried them. For me China is much better. They don't break in 10 stitches! The work is smooth and butiful. I am hard of vision so the red paint makes seeing much easier.

Amazing!
I absolutely LOVE these circular knitting needles. I received them about a month ago and have so far knitted 15 hats and two scarves. I use circular knitting needles for every knit project due to rheumatoid arthritis so a good set is important to me. I have had no trouble with the needles staying attached to the ropes as some reviewers mentioned. I think I have had to re-tighten them twice since I started using them but when I used the "key" to tighten them it made a huge difference. I love how compact the case is and how easy it is to put in my knitting bag and take with me. Having the full set at all times allows me to have more than one project going or to start a new project no matter where I may be.I would recommend these needles to any knitter.

Really nice
These work really well, other them the yarn getting stuck between the needle and the cord. Thatcare vert sturdy, and have quite a few sizes to choose from. They look wonderful because each set of needles has a different color. I still use them today and really like using them, they work they way they should, but sometimes come unscrewed. I only gave then a 4 star because the case is very rough to use and it started out so tight I couldn't pull some out, then after they where so lose they would fall out.

Needles don’t screw in properly
The needle sizes are correct, and the material works well if you prefer metal needles like me.The interchangeable-ness does not work as well as I had hoped as the needles don’t always screw onto the cable all the way. It took pliers and some serious grip strength/forcing to get the needles all the way on, without being all the way on the yarn gets stuck in the gap. If the threads on the needles and cables were improved, I’d be much happier with the product but they are usable after some fanangling.

Good starter kit for beginner knitter.
This is a good set for a beginner knitter. Has a few tools and the interchangeable needles come in a lot of sizes. Seem to lock tightly to the cables. Easy to set up. The case better than others I’ve seen as long as the zipper holds up.

Cheap, low quality
I’m incredibly disappointed in these needles. I’ve had fewer frustrations with a very cheap set of bamboo needles than with this set. I will be returning these and saving up for something better.First of all, the needles already had wear on the tips of several sizes when they arrived. All I can figure is that I’m not the first to be returning this exact set.The transition from the main portion of the needle to the tip is very sudden, so they don’t glide smoothly against each other while stitching. You can see the harshness of the transition in my photos of the obviously worn tips. This makes for a less than pleasant knitting experience. The join between the cord and the metal piece is also harsh and catches on the yarn as you slide the stitches across. This is really frustrating, especially when it actually snags and damages the yarn.Several of the needles cannot screw all the way into place, leaving a gap that’s the perfect size to catch stitches in. My finer weight yarn got so well caught there that I had to remove the needle from the cord to free my yarn, as I couldn’t get a hold of the yarn to pull it free. The needles that do screw fully into place don’t stay secure. As you work, they come loose. Thankfully, getting stitches caught in the gap created is generally enough of a problem to catch it before the needles fully disconnect and cause you to lose stitches, but it’s still frustrating to deal with. The cord is very stiff. I work with the magic loop method quite a lot, but can’t do that with these cords because they aren’t flexible enough to work with.As a lifelong crocheter, I’d assumed that I could buy mid-range tools and be fine for quite a while before being forced to upgrade, since that was true for crochet hooks. However, this doesn’t seem to be true with knitting. If you want budget friendly, stick with fixed circulars. For interchangeable needles, quality truly matters and you very much get what you pay for.I wanted so much to love these needles, but I just can’t. They led to far too much frustration and no actual progress on projects, so I’m back to my cheap bamboo for the time being.

Great Starter Set!
I'm a beginning knitter, but longtime crocheter. These are great beginning needles for people who are not sure whether they want to make the $100+ commitment to a name brand set, but want to see how aluminum needles feel in the hand. I didn't have any issue with the needles - I could easily attach and tighten the connectors, and was able to start knitting right away. They feel good in the hand and the colors are vibrant. The needle material reminds me of aluminum crochet hooks, so they would be familiar to crocheters. There are no burrs or other imperfections on the needles. I think this is a good value for beginning knitters, or as a gift for someone who wants to learn.

It was as advertised
I like that it came with everything useful when knitting, I did expect that because it is aluminum the yarn would slide easily, it doesn’t feel rough but yarn doesn’t slide, I feel over time it will slide easier or I may buff the needles with wax
