Dewaxed Garnet Shellac Flakes 1/8 Lb. Or (2 Ounce)

Excellent product, Very clean and easy to use.

When I'm finishing furniture I use fresh flakes to make my own shellac ( an ounce of flakes to 8 ounces of alcohol to make a 1# cut) I've never had to shake it longer than 45 minutes.It mixes easy! I apply shellac in 4-5 thin coats because it dries fast.Thin coats are easier to apply too.The 1st batch I bought was used to finish the loft bed I made and the 2nd batch was used on the safety rails and foot board.I still have an ounce of dry flakes left for other projects and some premixed in a jar.

This stuff works great! It seemed to dissolve in denatured alcohol pretty fast after I ground it in a mortar and pestle. If I remember right I used it the same evening that I bought it. It goes on very well and even this much with a 2 pound cut is enough for the multiple things I've French polished and a lot more.

I redid an antique cane bench and wanted to replicate the original finish.I’m happy with the results. Just melted the flakes as directed and applied with a chip brush.

I've recently mixed my first batch of Garnet lac flakes with denatured alcohol for a sanding sealer. 1oz cut worked very well!

Fairly PO'ed. I wasted denatured alcohol because this was mislabeled and I was going off the 8 ounces on the label instead of the actual 2 ounces in the pouch. Obviously, it was very faint on wood with the weak cut. Now have to redo my entire project and buy more alcohol. Company needs better QA to prevent people wasting time and money.

Produces more of a darker orange on Romanian unknown wood.

Enough flakes for many, many small jobs
