Good to go!
I love me some gator tires. I don't skid unless I do it deliberately! I only ride with gators!

Can't beat German made!
After I took 4 punctures in a month timeframe on some brand new paselas, I was desperate. These have been amazing so far. I don't care too much about the speed loss, it honestly feels like I go faster on these anyway which makes it feel more fun.

Conti Ultra Gatorskins can't be beat
There are a few critical pieces of the bike: those that touch the rider and those that touch the road. A catastrophic failure of a bicycle tire can spell serious trouble, especially for those of us who blast down hills, ride close to traffic, or just enjoy riding aggressively. I pedal year-round to and from work just over 18 miles per day on hilly terrain and mixing with traffic on a fixed gear. My bicycle *is* my car. I absolutely depend and put my life into my bike. The tires are arguably one of the most critical pieces that keep you upright and away from spilling on the pavement. For nearly 8 years I've put my money on these tires and I've never been disappointed. I change these tires out about every year to year and a half (I'm about 140lbs) which is when I usually get my first flat. Yep, *first* flat. These tires are bulletproof, yet are a fine balance between weight and flat-free performance. They are slightly heavier than race tires (I haven't weighed them side-by-side, but rather going by perception while pedaling), yet the cornering performance is nearly on par with Conti's race tires (e.g., Grand Pri 4000 chilli's I also ride in the summer). I've come to trust these tires not only on dry pavement, but also in the rain. They are very predictable and instill a sense of trust as you get accustomed to wet riding. I've had several near-spill situations but, believe it or not, I've never gone down on these tires even after 8 years commuting. One time I was turning left out of a driveway and it was near freezing. I hit a patch of ice and my rear tire broke loose, but a moment later it grabbed again after the ice. Scary - yes, but the tire transitioned to grip very nicely and didn't throw me off. Since I'm on a fixie, I have a better sense for feeling the road. There was one time I told my buddy riding behind me that the road is slick, and I took it slowly and really felt the little grip available; he took a spill a moment later. (He wasn't riding a fixie, but I also don't know what tires he was riding. Whatever comes stock on a Cervelo P2 :p .)I very highly recommend purchasing these tires to enjoy good grip in all-weather situations, predictability, puncture-resistance, and a long tire life.

Easily Purchased on Amazon
I am a regular purchaser of Continental Gatorskins. I consistently get about 6,300 miles out of a set, which last me about one year. The purchase on Amazon was easily executed. Delivery occurred when advertised. .

It is definitely worth the extra money
I live in the desert of ArizonaI commute with my bike average of 5 miles to work and back, about 4 days a week. This time of year the roads and side walks are laced with little hogthorns. Last month I got about 4 flats. Since upgrading to gatorskins, I have had zero flats and had had 2 thorns in my tires, which didn't penetrate the tire.

So far 500+ miles and no flat.
Good tire does what its supposed to. Anything is better than the 20+ yr old tires I had on my old Schwinn Their are a real pain to get on the rim. While cornering I do hear tires squeaking (and no its not the old bike) going around corners, nothing high speed less than 18 mph, but they don't slip , just makes for an uneasy feeling especially turning right into a busy street with cars flying by. My old rotted tires never did this but were giving me a flat tire nearly every other week.I didn't notice these when I installed them but after some miles I was retuned my rims and noticed 2 perfectly cut holes in both tires faces (see Picture). Looks to be a molding mistake.Packing was great, these are foldable so they get shipped folded. Made in Germany. I let them set out overnight unfolded before I attempted to put on the rims hoping that would help to install them, It didn't.

If you don't like flats and replacing tubes, buy the Gatorskins!
The past 3 years I have ridden 15,000+ miles. The first 2 years, I couldn't tell you how many flats I have had while biking only 11,000 miles. I was told to buy these Gatorskin tires long before my many headache flats. However, I continued buying a wide variety of lightweight racing tires in hopes of gaining a little speed. I finally had one to many flats while training and during race events. I am now ordering this exact Continental Gatorskin brand tire again. I'm ordering the replacement a little early as I anticipate it will soon be time to swap out the rear tire. I have currently ridden 4,000+ miles without 1 flat! The $ that I have saved on tubes alone would have nearly replaced a tire by now. I have been told that I may be able to squeeze 10,000 miles out of the front tire and 5,000+ out of the rear. I plan to ride my current tires until I finally receive the first flat and to self-discover how long they could last. My speed has only increased, but that's probably due to the improved motor :)Note: this time around, I plan to run 23's on the front and 25's on the rear versus 23's front and rear. Hopefully, this will provide a softer ride and I have been told it will not affect my speed.Tip: buy in sets of 3. You should go through 2 rear tires for every front tire. Ensure max pressure before every ride, 120psi
