Heavy Duty Welded Full Metal One Piece Sand Beach Pond River Zebra Mussel and Lake Rake

Heavy duty and works great for keeping our beach clean!

We read the reviews on the previous version and was glad to see the company was coming out with a heavier duty version. We had difficulty finding the new version and when we did, we were concerned that there were no reviews on it yet. Glad we took the chance. Arrived in one piece and in great shape. Nice and sturdy, but of course that means it is heavy. You get a good workout, but using it for 15 minutes it is not a problem. While it would be nice if the rake portion was wider, that would surely add to the weight and potential control of managing the clean-up of the rake. The rake does well to clean up the lake edge muck. We gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because not everyone will do well with the weight of it, but does what it should and seems well built to last the rest of our lifetime so worth the trade-off.

I bought this to pull and rake weeds from the swim area. It works, meh, ok. Pulling it through the water, raking the sand is no treat. The snail shells tend to skitter out of the edges of the rake. To get the snails, I think I need a vacuum cleaner, maybe something like they have in pools, that spits out the water and sand. Or, a different rake. Lol. What I know for sure is that I got quite a workout, which wasn’t a bad thing, but I still have a lot of weeds and snails. Perhaps not the best rake for a smaller person.

While the tool is stout, it really does not work for sifting muck from the lake bottom. It is so heavy and narrow that it digs into the sand rather than gliding on the bottom surface while the muck simply goes around the sides.

Way too heavy for long-term use.

This product has been an amazing help in clearing leaves and sticks out of the water at the lake. The rake is pretty heavy, which is actually a good thing.
