Reflective Glass Beads
Bought this product months ago. I recently repainted the address numbers in my driveway. Apply as instructed. It clearly says apply to “wet” paint. I did, but it was a little windy and the paint dried faster than I anticipated. So when I did the second set of numbers, I modified the application. Very, very easy to apply. I simply used a plastic spoon and dusted it onto the wet paint. Move quickly so that it’s applied while the paint is at its wettest. Good results. Slight pressure using the back of the spoon may help it to stick. Good amount is in the bag, so I have plenty left over for the next project. I would definitely repurchase this item!

Use for your Halloween decorations, which are to be illuminated after dark
Sprinkle these beads on to bright, wet paint, and just wait until you shine a spot light on them. They really do help your creations show up after dark. Though they caution not to clear coat them, I did use an acrylic clear coat on them, to seal them, and there was no problem. It probably was a good enough match of refractive index. They are rather pricey, and they do not cover much area. I covered about 25% of the wet surface area with these and 1 lb doesn't go far (only about 3 sq ft for me). But the effect is pretty impressive. I'm already thinking of my next project.

The Answer to Reflective Paint
We are in the sign business and occasionally we get a request for reflective paint. I have not been able to find such a product, but I did discover these reflective beads. A good alternative. The beads are applied to wet paint. The paint is what holds them in place. Works pretty well.

Weren’t all that reflective
I purchased to assist parking my truck at night in a small space … these glass beads were not reflective in backup lights from my truck … it was always an experiment but I was still surprised it didn’t work a little bit … I gave three stars since I may have been using it way out of its intended use …

Not bad. Good learning experience
I wire brushed 70 yr old, painted metal house numbers and placed the numbers onto a shallow cardboard box. I sprayed with Rustoleum gloss white paint and carefully drizzled the beads out of a pinched plastic bag onto the wet paint. Be very careful when handling so as not to knock off any beads. Some WILL fall off so be sure you are in a controlled area where you can vacuum them up (pets, children...).If I find the need to do this again, or with another house, I will try using brush on, thicker paint (gel?) so as to provide a thicker substrate and foundation for the beads to adhere to. I would also try spray painting with clear finish to help the beads stick and weather more effectively. The newly beaded house numbers are slightly improved in appearance. At night, reflectance is more noticable if the light source closer to perpendicular to the signage. With a flashlight, the glowing effect was much more pronounced and satisfying.Be sure to seal the bottom of the box completely as the beads are very small and will find their way through the smallest opening. Beads are about 10x+ smaller than a BB. The cardboard box will also ampliy the sound of the beads falling and provide audible feedback on the beads adhering vs dislodging. You can also consider working over an old drop cloth to help gather the escaping beads. Avoid dumping into the outdoor environment if at all possible.
