My favourite Olive Oil for a long time was California Olive Ranch's Arbequina (under Trader Joes label.) Tried TJ organic olive oils but much prefered the TJ Arbequina. With no TJ in southern part of state where I moved, I've had to venture online. I ordered the Terra Creta not having a clue about what to expect. Very very relieved as I began adding it to salads & potatoes to find it is delicious. Will add fuller description after a couple of weeks. First hit by how creamy/velvety is the consistency. Clearly low in acidity. Love that I can trace the origin with the lot number on the Terra Creta website. Koroneiki olives are supposed to be the highest in polyphenols. There is a pdf on the Terra Creta website that suggests the polyphenol content is from above 500 mg/kg to 835 mg/kg. Emailed Terra Creta for clarification.

This has a nice taste, it's in the middle of the mild-to-bitter scale. Tad towards the creamy, lowish on the bitter scale. I could probably do a little bit more bitter; I've read the better OO's have a bit more bitter, peppery flavor (along with the good berry, buttery and slighly fruity flavor that quality XVOO's have.) Happy with it and it's a hell of a deal.

For those looking for a high quality therapeutic olive oil this product is the best value being imported into North America. Crete constantly produces high polyphenolic olive oils. At 250mg/Kg of phenolic compounds the EU will give a designation as healthy/therapeutic. Given the popularity and the rigors in which the Mediterranean diet has been studied it’s no wonder people have a paradoxical effect of heart health when they consume more of these fats. Olive oil is rich in vitamin E a cardioprotective compound; don’t be fooled by people touting avocado oil as an effective replacement - it pales in comparison to this. Avocado oil has vitamin E but at half the amount, people confuse carotenoids as a polyphenol but it’s not really and not of major concern to go out of your way to get more of unlike the fore mentioned assets of this EVOO. I’m no shill, just a huge fan. Little known fact about olive oil is good quality EVOO works on the same pathways to reduce pain like ibuprofen, naproxen and asprin. I use it daily to reduce pain - shots of it raw. I use it to cook and drizzle on food.

Very expensive :((

I bought this for health reasons because of the highly monitored, estate quality, highly rated nutritional profile, and the fact that I can check on each batch for all stats. However, the flavor is lacking, but better than many you can buy. Since most products sold as olive oil in the grocery stores are not really olive oil at all, the ability to see lab results and track each crop is of great value to me. It is pricey, but I like the health benefits.

The genuine taste and aroma of the Crete. We use it practically for everything we cook or bake.

This is my third time that I ordered this product. Always the packaging was fantastic.This time the tin was damaged in 4 different places and I am surprised that the tin damage did not resulted to a spilled of the olive oil inside the box. I don't know whose fault but in the past the whole tin was rapped with bubbled plastic paper. This time did not have have anything around the tin.
