Schleich Wild Life, Realistic Wild Animal Toy For Boys and Girls, Crocodile Toy Figurine with Movable Jaw, Ages 3+

I bought this toy because I was working on a "Man vs Nature" type of photography project. I did not have access to a real crocodile or alligator (nor did I want real access...hahahaha). Instead, I bought this toy and used it as my photography subject. I have since let my kids have it as an educational toy. This is a neat little toy. The paint job is great. In the photos it looked realistic, especially with a little editing (such as putting it into a swampy environment using Photoshop). I have attached unedited pictures of this item. I took them sitting on a couch next to a well-lit window. Hopefully, this will give you a true feel of the paint quality.From head to the tail, I would measure this at around 7" long. The nose of the crocodile, which is the highest point of this toy, stands around 2" from the ground. I like the fact that the mouth opens and shuts. However, I feel that if there are any weak points in the paint job it is inside the mouth. It just looks a lot less realistic than the rest for some reason. I opted to keep the mouth closed for my photo project. The mouth is the only moving part on this toy. The legs and tail do not articulate. It is a hard, molded plastic. The media could not be loaded. I love alligators and crocodiles & I wanted to have one on my desk for decoration. This little guy is so adorable and fits perfectly ! I even scare a few people around the office with it! The jaw opens and closes which is a plus! Great detail & It’s about the same size of your hand.

This was a birthday gift for my crocodile-loving 4 year old. We bought it almost a year ago and it has stood up to the sandy beach and being left outside countless times. All my kids (ages 6, 4 & 2) have loved playing with it. As with most Schleich products, it looks realistic. The open/close mouth feature is a favorite and is perfect for “eating” little fingers—in a good way. The mouth tends to add a fidget-factor to the toy meaning it is in hands even when the imaginary play stops.As for durability, the paint has worn a bit on the tops of scales and the nose (pictured). The bottom jaw has popped off one time (more likely it was pulled until it gave). I snapped it back in and have had no problems since. My kids are very rough with toys and this one has truly held up nicely.

Every single one of these toys that I have purchased are beyond beautiful and well made from the details to the painting to how thick heavy and solid they are. They also take one heck of a beating. I have even placed some in the dishwasher to get them clean after they had been left out in the rain mud and sun for days on end and they came out of the dishwasher just like when the toys arrived and where brand new. I bought about 20 of these small figures so I will place this review on each of them. Update........ after having these little toys in the house for around 5 months now I have discovered that these are like modern day Legos. By modern day Legos I mean they hurt like hell when you step on one by surprise. Anyways after 4-5 months of abuse by kids, dogs and the dishwasher these little toys are holding up extremely well and I would definitely recommend them.

I would give it 5 stars if not for the paint chipping off when my son drops or throws it (he is 3 years old). He has many animal figurines from various manufacturers and this is the only one that the paint job chips off of. Other than that it’s great. The detail is impressive!

This looks realistic and is extremely durable. Really well made.
