Killer Audio! Great Stability on SSB! Swing with asymmetrical modulation out of box!
This radio has great audio out of the box! You’ll love this radio if you ever had an export or galaxy radio? You’ll love this one even more!Asymmetrical modulation and plenty of swing stock.Just jump a solder pad to expand frequency coverage.Swings over 60w peak out of box. Not necessary to tune up to hot rod! I made just a minor bias adjustment for linearity and Ssb signals. ALC adjusted for ssb waveform. Was all that was needed. Receiver good to -128dbm on am! Over -130dbm ssb! Out of box! Easy to use menu. Echo and talkback are clean and clear with stock mic. The optional ranger SRA-198 mic is a great choice (better audio and cancellation) for an optional mic vs the optional stryker (muffled - bassy) noise cancellation mic. Size is comparable to a standard (galaxy 33-99 or 2950 size) export rig. Performance is just outstanding! On frequency out of the box! Modulation is perfect at 95-99% beautiful waveform on spectrum and scope! Excellent receiver! Try one, you’ll either thank me or yourself later! If you’re going to spend the money on a radio with frequencies that usually have SSB activity on them? Why get a am fm only radio 655? Get the SSB and AM/FM fully capable radio the 955! Value

Great radío, Very happy PULL THE TRIGGER
I will be updating this as time goes by. This radio is awesome.Got it home and immediately did the frequency unlock. It was a very tiny tiny square modern resister. My mother in law used to solder for medical equipment. She unsoldered the resister in minutes. I had her look over the board and imspect all the joints. She said they were fairly clean and she found no cracks no cold joints.Being so modern PCB construction I would assume it will last as diesel mobile. The software is fairly easy to operate. Works on windows 10 64bit. Has very nice features like swr cut off and low and high power safteys. One disappointments was the roger beep. I was hoping to beable to use .wav files to.have a custom roger beep. Its kind of time consuming to created something original because its drop down menus to select the sound freq hz and time. They could have made it an input form. If they update the app it would be very easy to implement.I won't dock a star for the roger.beep however. This rig works on upper ssb really good, I was getting over 100 watts out on the built in meter. On Am I was very surprised, this radio is very quite. RF gain almost all the way up ( knob all the way to the right) with squaltch turned off no static with NB on a 1.5 swr. I could here contacts from 15 miles away so far.Contacts so far say I sound Krystal clear and are amazed at the differences between my this and my comnex 3300zx.Thanks stryker for the great radio so far. I hope.you update the appI'd love to see a easier to use roger beep customize menu Add a copy and paste script input so users can share each others.Sorry for punctuation and spelling I'm on a mobile device

Defective tranceiver trying to resolve with Stryker. [Returned to Amazon]
The radio arrived with a defective channel selector switch (encoder) which would intermittently skip, jump and not change the channels or bands. The radio was weak on receive. After having it for just 2 days I obtained an RMA from Stryker and had to ship it at my expense to a "CB Shop" about 500 miles away. The Stryker people issued the RMA quickly but there was no estimate of the repair time. Given the two problems I encountered with the radio right from the box how could I initially recommend this radio. The Stryker customer service response was very good. I will be evaluating the entire return and repair process and will change my view based upon the results. Hopefully there will be a positive outcome which I can report. Until such time this is my review. I did a YouTube review of another Stryker model, the SR94HPC which is a solid product. Generally Stryker makes high quality products just be aware of a possible channel switch issue on the Models 655 and 955. The repair contractor Stryker used failed to make any repairs. I sent Stryker videos of the switch defect.UPDATE: 2/21/18; After 2 weeks radio still with Stryker for repair.UPDATE: 2/24/18; The radio was returned without being repaired.UPDATE: Radio was returned to Amazon.

Buy it, Use it, Don't try to "tune it". it does what it does. .very well out of the box.
It is what it is.. so. exactly what is it.. Well, it's a fancy, high powered CB. Yes it says "10 Meter Amateur Mobile Transceiver" on it, but, on truly designed for the ham community has Roger Beep, Channels, Talk Back, and a "Clarifier". another way to know it's actually -designed- to be modified to work on 11 meters.. the surface mount diode that needs to be removed.. has a freakin ARROW POINTING TO IT!. .I mean duhh.. (that being said, unless you're quite adept with a small soldering iron, and / or willing to throw it in the trash if you mess up, because if you do this.. it does void the warranty.. completely, so don't go crying to the Stryker or your dealer for something you screwed up.Now. all that being said.. and knowing what it actually is.. and what it actually not. aka.. being honest. This is a great radio. don't dork with it. don't try to "tune it up".. it is well designed and does, what it does.. great. If you want 11 meters.. have someone that's good, remove the diode or resister or whatever the heck it is.. orrr.. if you have any hesitancy at all. go to the Stryker Club facebook group, look up the dealers that Stryker lists as a "registered" dealer. or.. proceed at your own risk.I see no reason to even change mics. the stock one is quite good. I've got a Stryker, a Galaxy, couple of Cobra's, as well as Ham gear (Alinco, bunch of Yeasu's, Kenwood) and while this is not a Ham rig.. it's not meant to be, ,but. it does what it does. .very darn well.Buy it, Use it, Don't try to "tune it" and you'll be happy. Treat it like any piece of well designed and executed gear.. (unless you just like burning up rigs)
