Robert Lang is a one of the best origami designers in the world, and this book contains some of his best work. All of the models are complex, and it certainly is not a book for beginners. But they all turned out so great, and I learned a lot of new folding techniques. The progression that the book follows allows the folder to build momentum as new folding methods are utilized. If you or somebody you know is looking for a good origami challenge, this book is a great gift! Thin, sturdy paper is a must, and I'd recommend Taro's kami 24 cm x 24 cm (or larger).My wife got this for me for Christmas and I really enjoyed working through it for the past few months!

Diagrams are clear and comprehensible, and the finished results speak for themselves! Amazing book, would recommend!

Probably not the best second origami book. It took me three months to finally get the ant right back when I was twelve. After that, the Hercules beetle came easily as did several other models. I still thoroughly enjoy this book more than a decade after I first purchased it. It is definitely not for the beginner, but it is well worth the time and effort it takes to learn the models.

I am so glad I got this book. Robert Lang is legendary for his perfect execution in realism. Every model he has created is gallery acceptable. My gripe about this book is that the cover and the quality of models suggests that it is on the easier side of the spectrum. Maybe its because this book is a little older but some of the diagrams and not easily understandable. I have been doing origami for many years and a bunch of the models require a lot of brain power and my own experience. I would reccommend this book, but not to new folders.

I have loved origami ever since i was a child. It can be difficult finding a book that has incredible pieces with understandable instructions. This book does just that. The models that are created are breath-taking. Get this book. You will be amazed what you can create. I recommend this to anyone who has a love of origami and is at an intermediate to advanced folding level.

I love this book! The insect origamis are fantastic, and even after months I'm still trying to make all of them. You need to be at least a intermediate level origami folder to be able to successfully fold them. I'm stuck on 2 of them, and I've been folding since childhood.Totally worth every penny. Buy it if you enjoy origami.
