Flexible option for containing pups of all sizes
Bought this item to create a barrier between rooms where there's no adjoining door. Our rescue greyhound was very clingy on arrival and we wanted him to get used to a bit of space between him and his people e.g. at mealtimes. Our downstairs area is all open plan with no closeable doors and this seemed like a good option without installing multiple baby gates.I ordered enough panels to fit a 6-foot space as this is the largest doorway / space we wanted to close off. Received 6 panels, which gave perfect coverage with a good amount of zig-zag in this space. The panels were easy to click together and are very stable in the zig-zag formation - I continue to be surprised at how well they contain the dog. As others have said, he doesn't try to knock it over although I'm sure he could if he was so inclined! This has probably been one of our most useful purchases - it is lightweight and easy to move around the home, and is equally useful in smaller spaces as in the large one we purchased it for. We store it in the hallway and use it regularly to keep the dog away from the front door when receiving deliveries, or out of the main kitchen area when he's coming in and out of the back door. We can put it across the bottom of the stairs to keep him downstairs, or between items of furniture to create a barrier when food is being prepared or his presence is just not needed! It allows him to see the people on the other side and not get anxious about being left out.The only downside I've found is that balls and other toys roll through the holes in the panels very easily, so leaving treat balls or squeaky balls in the room to keep the dog distracted doesn't always work for more than a couple of minutes!

Marvelous thing!
I've only had this a few days but already it's the best £30 I've ever spent.I have two dogs, a 7 year old Collie Cross bitch and a 15 month American Bulldog male with epilepsy. So far this has been used:-Across the kitchen so she can eat in peace without him stealing her food.At the foot on the stairs when I answer the door to prevent her racing down and out to freedom. At the foot of the stairs while I do school runs to prevent him having a fit in an unsafe place while I'm out.Blocking the gap between the Lounge and Dining areas so she can have some space when she's had enough of his bouncy ways.If she decides to guard something he wants I've used it to pen and then direct her to her own space, defusing tension and saving me removing the item until she's become bored with it (usually two seconds after he loses interest in it).I bought it thinking it might be useful with a number of problems, not having decided where to fix it but thinking I could buy extra panels if needed. As a free-standing thing it is strong and stable in its zig-zag form. It's not a threatening barrier because of the large spaces between the bars. The zig-zag seems to confuse them and they just accept that it is a barrier, even though it's just marking the spaces really. My dogs have made no attempt to test it, which feels like magic to be honest. They aren't afraid or even wary of it, they just stop! When not in use it's folded away against the wall, light enough to grab when needed.I may not fix it to a wall as, free, it is so flexible, but if I did, it would be at the foot of the stairs. Keeping my boy safe.

Flexible and handy fencing to contain dog in garden
My husband and I recently moved to a retirement village. Although we have our own garden, the gardens are all open plan and are maintained by the estate. You are not allowed to put up permanent fencing. As we have a dog this was something of a problem. We previously had a secure, enclosed garden and we could just open the door and let the dog out. We now found that we had to put her on the lead whenever she wanted out into the garden. We moved in the winter and knew that this would become even more of a problem in the summer as we would be spending more time outside. This flexible fencing has proven to be extremely useful. We have erected it next to the back door and it can simply be folded back when not in use. It is also really unobtrusive. As we are not allowed permanent fencing, we wanted something which would not be too obvious. The fencing itself is not too expensive and if you have DIY skills you may be able to put it together and install it yourself. We paid a builder to do it and it took around 4 hours so there is quite a lot of work to do. We felt is was worth the money as it means we can now let the dog into the garden.

Perfect for the job! Dogs miffed but contained!
Needed an easy to use, easy to move out of the way, effective barrier to keep the dogs in a designated area but didn't really want the permanence of a fence and gate. This does the job perfectly as described! I agree it could move in strong wind or if a particularly persistent dog wanted to push it over(as we have a 10ft stretch) so we are going to add a gate bolt in the middle (bolt drops into drilled hole in drive) and this should be all it needs for a bit of extra stability. We used it over the weekend (wet and windy) and a couple of well placed plant pots helped keep it still. Dogs miffed but contained!! it is quite pricey for what it is but it is well made, lots of helpful info from the company and to be fair, a lot less faff than what we were planning with a full on retractable gate and fence and posts and......!!! Put it this way, it took me 15 minutes to unpack, assemble and set up outside where it would have taken many weekends for the...shall we say..DIY enthusiast of the house to sort it so worth the money I say!!Added comments:Had initially gone with 4 stars due to price but actually, after a couple of months use, I take it back and award full 5 stars. Very pleased with this product. We have added a easy restraining chain to keep it together when folded and bicycle spoke reflectors as its at the side of our house and our drive continues round the back. I wanted night time arrivers to see it! Haven't got around to fitting a bolt in the centre and have actually found we dont need it
