Couldn't be happier!
Well....bought this to replace the amp in my Cambridge Soundworks 12" subwoofer. The original amp never seemed to work properly, and finally died about 3 years ago. Since then I'd been using an old stereo receiver to power the subwoofer. Any way, this Dayton subwoofer amp has exactly the same dimensions as the original amp - including the mounting screw locations! That was admittedly pure luck, but boy, was installation easy! And so far, it's performed flawlessly. It even seems to sound better than the original. It does have more power, so I'm not too surprised about that. It arrived pretty quickly after I ordered it, so I'm one happy camper! I'd definitely recommend this amp to someone looking for a replacement subwoofer plate amp - even if you have to do some trimming to fit your subwoofer enclosure.

Excellent Dayton Audio SPA250 - 250 Watt Subwoofer Amp. Excellent Calue !
Awesome Crisp Clean Power: Dayton Audio SPA 250 - 250 Watt Subwoofer Amp. This unit is used in-line with my REAR ... Speakers 'B' Speaker Wires. Very Simple Set-Up: Speakers L/R Input and Output ... and a Dedicated Single Pair of Speaker Wires [16"] for the Subwoofer Speaker. I am using a Pyle PDIWS28 - Dual 8" In-Wall unit which can Peak at 600-watts ... and Continuous usage @ 300-watts. The SPA250 has GAIN / Frequency Response / and Phase switches - adjustments. The 'Auto on/off switch is left on at all times ... shuts the unit down when power from the Amp is turned off. Very useful feature.A Bass Boost Switch on top --- Selects a bass boost filter with +6dB @ 35Hz. It Allows the user to add boost to the low end response. Nice feature. This unit is designed to fit within a Subwoofer cabinet / enclosure. Mine is built into a Custom Rear [back of family room] Enclosure with L / R Rear Speakers. The Bass resonating from the power of this amp nicely Compliments / Enhances the Front / Main [Bose] Subwoofer. The entire room is literally filled with Music. Front Speakers are positioned lower to the floor ... rear speakers are closer to the ceiling ... total coverage at all volume levels. I chose this unit because my Receiver does not have a Rear or Second Subwoofer connection. This is truly an Awesome Amp ... Simple and Efficient ! Worth the Money -- Excellent Value !

Saved the day
Purchased a high end powered home subwoofer some years ago. After a short time it started making "Barking" noises?! Looked it up, online, and found many reports of bad caps on the amplifier board. Thought I was screwed. Found this on Amazon and figured it was worth a try. The fit was perfect and the sub has performed flawlessly for a couple of years now. It was a lot less expensive option than a new sub. Recommended.

Powerful deep bass!
The Dayton SPA250 is a nice powerful sub-amp with a good low end punch, not just for music, but movies, it delivers a clean low end without being to "on your face" sort of speak. You can feel the bass coming thru clean without any major volume increase to help it. The controls are simple, and the connectivity to either an existing subwoofer or a new one is pretty easy to do. However, if you are replacing your plate amp for this one, be ready to customize the existing open, as this amp is a bit larger on the back. But if you are savy and got the tools, is not a big deal. Anyway, great amp for the money!

Good power bad durability
I purchased one and it lasted 2 months, needs lots of room and lots of air. I rebuilt my bandpass keeping the second one separated and it's sounds great. Needs lots of air moving across it to stay cool. Goes into protection easy on slight power draw. Make sure to get the protection plan I learned my lesson. I am using a 250w polk sub in a 4th order bandpass in a ported audio closet , sounds fantastic Hopefully moving the amp out of the box will extend the longevity. I'm very pleased with the performance , durability is questionable

This will be a review I have to update.
The first one I ordered only lasted through half a movie. Before that I only did two or three 10 minute demos. The first one shutoff, did not blow the fuse either. It would not turn back on after hours of cool down. I was provided with a prompt replacement. The first one ran very hot. When the replacement arrived. I made sure I used cooling fans to keep it cool. I simply connected two pc cooling fans to a dc cell phone charging cable. Have better fans shipping now. Runs very cool now. This replaced an old mini system that had 200w of dedicated bass output. I am powering 4 50w 4ohm bass shakers, in a series/parallel configuration. I have read many review that the bass shaker im using can handle a little extra power anyway. Also im not quite at 50% gain either. It seams to do the job efficiently around 45% gain crossover set to 80hz. I will put it through some further use and update my review. UPDATE: 1yr later. The Replacement is still running great.. I will leave the review at 4 stars because it needs the cooling fans to stay cool. However they are doing the trick and I am getting very good performance from the Amp.

Perfect fit for Basscube 15
I bought this as a replacement for the amplifier in my Cambridge Soundworks Basscube 15 on a suspicion it might fit based on the measurements. I was very pleasantly surprised that it not only fit, it was an exact fit - same screw holes, same cutout size, same lugs for the speaker, same sealed box to protect it. Seems like the same amp, but updated. Performs flawlessly, at least initially, and restored the sound and eliminated the horrible hum I had.
