Q: So the washers are supposed to go on the other side between the dust boot and tapered hole? Not actually for the castle nut?

The washers are used if there is a dead spot in the steering due to a higher lift or something like that. They should go under the passenger side TRE boot if needed

Depending on which end you use, there’s a “right hand” and a “left hand” threaded end.. the tube has 2 different threads for easy adjustments

I think you mean tie rod end. You would need to contact the product manufacturer.
