Q: Why wouldn’t I just be able to cut this to whatever length works for my tube?

Hello, Unfortunately all drink tube covers are stitched with a seam. If you cut, the stitch will come unraveled. We're more than happy to cut and sew the length needed. Q: Any tricks to sliding it on the hose? Its a tight fit and have only been able to get it on a quarter of the way.

I used a combination of pulling it through (using duck tape to secure the string) and grabbing the top of the hose, pulling, then while holding the top tight, pushing up the sleeve at the base of the tube and pushing up towards the other hand.
