Wonderful set!
Very, very nice set, and great price! I had a set of carving tools for about 15 years and paid more for them than I did for this set. There are way nicer! My old ones had unfinished wood handles and handles were cylindrical; these have handles that are varnished, so they feel nice and smooth in the hand.. plus, they are shaped in ways that make them much more comfortable, and easier, to use! I love them. I also love that they come inside a nice zipper case, and with a sharpening stone. What a wonderful deal for anyone who wants to carve (I use them for baked polymer clay carving) but doesn't want or need some fancy or crazy expensive tools. These are just as good, in my opinion. Highly recommend, from someone who has been carving with tools like these for about 22 years now.

1st time whittling and these seem good
I picked these because they looked good for the price. I don't really know what im doing but they seemed to cut pretty well. after some use i ran a few of them on the little stone that came with it and they very quickly became sharp enough to draw blood, ask me how I know.

Uncertain about Quality
I'm not sure if it's because I'm a true beginner in woodcarving, but I could not get these knives to work as I'd hoped, even in a wood specifically made for easy carving, following the grain, etc.The amount of force I needed to get them to do anything honestly felt a bit dangerous, as it could easily slip and cut my hands. At least one of them chipped, and I put them away, haven't gotten them out again since - I really can't tell if there's anything I could have done better with them, but my perception is that a beginner would have an easier time with some higher quality tools, as learning with these was really frustrating.

I purchased a similar set at a different location these were well made and a much better deal than the other location.
