Just be careful with the parts when cleaning the unit.
I have been using this model airbrush for plastic models and finer surfaces on r/c flying models. Same basic, reliable model airbrush. much better box! Works well with enamels and acrylics for plastic models, dope and lacquers for the flying models. My last H model survived for years before the fit became flaky following who knows how many cleanings.

Great airbrush for the $$
This was the airbrush my Dad had when I was a kid (~30 years ago). I looked at others and they were either too expensive or seemed too cheap to do a good job. I did buy a knockoff airbrush (dual-action) before this since it was very cheap to try(~ twenty bucks), but it seemed to splatter alot which is not good if you really want a nice paint job. I then got this airbrush, and HUGE difference. No splattering, smooth paint flow, easy enough to clean. Kept my air pressure around 15-20 psi. I was already familiar with this airbrush since I used it many times as a kid and my Dads old one still works after 30+ years too and basically the exact same design/parts. As I learned with my dads, be very careful not to damage the needles when assembling or disassembling the nozzle. Once the needle point gets bent, it is ruined (but not that expensive to replace). This is a great deal and great airbrush for someone who just wants a good one for painting models or other small hobby items plus it will last for years with good care. I only used this with enamal paints for plastic models and only really needed the medium (size 3) nozzles, even though it came with 3 sizes. So if you have other uses for this in mind, you may want to read other reviews as well. No question in the quality of this brush though.

Woodworking MDF Final Coats Recommend
Never used an airbrush, and the Paasche H a blast. Little more to it then a spray paint can but so worth it. I use the largest diameter, to allow for random mixes of paint to flow better. I have pushed tons of crappy paint through this thing. If the color is too thick, thin, it down and maybe crank up the pressure. Don't overthink it!I have sprayed with it for about six different sessions, testing all sorts of paint and coating tons of parts for my humble CNC woodshop side hustle. The pieces getting covered have detail and depth, making it hard to use rattle cans without wrecking every other part. Not to mention, spray painting outside is just not going to work in the middle of a midwest winter.I purchased this one specifically for how easy it is to use, clean, and overall less can go wrong compared to a dual-action airbrush. Cleaning paint off anything is not a glorious job, but with the right solvent, it's easy. Careful not to wreck your kitchen sink with some paint thinner, trust me, I'm on my second sink in 2 years. The hard to reach spots are virtually impossible to hit with a rattle can, often ruins part, and weather makes it impossible to spray outside. I have shot paint with Createx, cheap acrylic mixes, and even got oil-based paint to work.I really went overboard and built a small spray booth with a powerful fan and vented directly outside. You have to use a chemically rated face mask with filter changes. (Dust masks do NOT work) I have found acrylic-based alternatives to all my coating materials and only apply solvent-based stains by hand. VOC's bad, VOC's misted into the air, not good.Paasche has been around for a long time directly out of WI, as learned from the manual, always nice to see.Hope This Helps! I was NOT paid or sponsored to write this review in any way!

OK for many applications
I had one of these long ago when I dabbled in models. I handed it off to my artist son who loaned it to someone, never to be returned. Later I got a new one for some application of water born shellac & lacquers on small wooden parts. The shellac is very thin and works well. The lacquer has to be thinned for this thing to handle it, even with ~ 1mm tip. I tried this on tiny parts, a few inches across. Its fairly robust for a single action sprayer, but I wish it was gravity feed for easier cleaning. Compared to more expensive types, the needles are large and not prone to being bent - I have had no mechanical issues.

Everything works and it's very easy to use
This was my first ever airbrush. Everything works and it's very easy to use.Two things I had to figure out initially was that the paint NEEDS to have the consistency of milk or lighter. It says this in the manual but it's something you have to get a feel for when you are preparing your paint. I suspect this may be the problem that some people are having when they sate that the suction isn't sufficient or the brush doesn't seem to work. If the paint isn't the proper consistency then all you get is air and maybe some sputters of paint. Get it right though and the brush is awesome. The other thing I had to figure out is assembly and dis-assembly for proper cleaning. It's also very quick and easy once you understand how to properly do it but at first it was a little nerve wracking for me. The brush is very well made and the parts are very fine so you might, like me, be afraid to break them initially but it turns out that they are pretty tough so with care and practice everything comes apart and goes back together without problem.

A great "starter airbrush" that you'll never stop using
Worthy of it's reputation! Don't know why some say to start with a cheap no name airbrush to learn. We don't learn to drive in a broken down old clunker with old manual brakes and small dim taillights. Don't try to learn on a clunker airbrush either. This is an easy to use, maintain and clean unit that you won't toss in two or three months. It allows you to use it for small details or heavy paints or finishes, and I'd bet a significant sum you'll not ever put it too far away from your paint station. You may rely on a higher quality main brush, but you'll find many uses for this back up or "special projects" airbrush. It's great for teaching kids to apply their talent to a white plastic lined paper plate too!
