Enjoyed flying even more with this!
I had one of these for my plane and loved it. Cued my music on take-off, intercom mutes music for any communications, could make or receive a call with my headset in flight if needed. Having music, safely, in an airplane made flying twice as enjoyable!! I did have one issue with my unit after a couple years in the Florida heat - called tech support, sent it in, they sent me a brand new one. Would definitely buy again. Note: needs PTT switches and correct input line for your phone to the intercom.

Good for RV cockpits too
I don't have a plane. I got this to use in a motorhome cockpit where it can be noisy enough to make conversations difficult and uncomfortable. It works well and can even include background music from my MP3 player. I (driver) keep one ear open to hear road sounds for safety. I don't have a nav radio so can't use that interface. I would like if that could to connect to my CB instead. Also an external mike input with separate volume for a external mounted microphone to be sure not to miss road noises that might not even make it into the cockpit.

You will be safer with no radio at all. One of these came in a plane and it had some serious problems, it was probably old and wore out so we used a different brand two place while I ordered this system. The two place worked perfectly, so this brand new intercom shows up and has the exact same problems as the old one. The push to talk button on the right side won't transmit voice. And sounds very garbled through the intercom on the left side when the ptt button is activated. With less than five hours it had some kind of short where the ptt button got stuck and brodcast everything we were saying, eventually some one from the FBO chased us down and alerted us of our problem. The only fix was turning off the radio stack. So we tried the two place system again and everything works flawlessly. Thinking I am doing something wrong I called the manufacturer and had the privilege of speaking with an engineer for maybe 90 seconds about how my ptt switch can't be hard wired in the plane and he hung up before I could ask any further questions. I certainly think everyone needs a fair chance at making things right and the only thing less impressive than this product is pilot usa's customer service. This thing is going back!

Looks good but poor performance, unusable
I purchased this intercom after my portable Aerocom III stopped working after many years. So I bought this in 2015 and I never had good reception. In 2016, I want to Airventure and met with one of the principals of Pilot. He said it probably needed to be cleaned/checked and was super nice. I enclosed his card, returned it and it was returned within days. It's still never worked right. By that, I mean that received communications are mostly unreadable. In the meantime, I can't find my Aerocom III for repair and a new one costs 3X as much. This Pilot intercom is full of features and the switchwork, etc is first class. However, it's quite terrible and I'm tossing it and starting anew. What a shame, especially since the people at Pilot were genuinely willing to help and provide excellent customer service.
