Pricey, but beautiful quality and indispensable for Metal Earth models
I've used this for the following Metal Earth models: Kinkakuji, the T4 tank, the Hayabusa space probe (maybe not Metal Earth, but the same genre). I've not used it for photoetch yet, but since the Metal Earth models are thicker and heavier metal sheets, this bending tool has shown that it can handle thicker gauge sheets. The price of this tool comes from its manufacture. It's not molded; it's machined aluminum. With the precise, straight edge and multitude of teeth it can fold just about anything. Boxes are easy since I can use a tooth to keep folding pieces that already have right angle folds. If I were to do anything different, i might buy the 8" tool instead, since I have a project coming up where I will need to fold the Eduard photoetch boom for the Hasegawa Voyager model. It still has small teeth for smaller box-like parts, but will be able to fold long pieces like that boom. I suppose that I could use a metal straight edge, clamped to a flat surface, to fold longer pieces. But, again, you won't have that nice machined precision edge that the Small Shop tool offers.

Exactly what I needed!
Fantastic little device! Well worth the price. I received it a full week before it was scheduled to be delivered and have used it on several parts. It works so much better than pliers. It clamps nice and tight and the razor blade doesn't slip. Also something I didn't see in the description, it comes with a blade which is the full length of the bending tool and a standard razor blade.

Love the quality
Highest quality, solid tool. I bought this for Photoetch upgrades for several spaceship models I'm building. It's just extremely well put together. Besides the standard razor blade size lift tool it comes with a full length lift tool as well. And not for nothing, it arrived 10 days earlier than the earliest projected shipping date.
