Good short read. Not a cure all, but very helpful.
I truly enjoyed this book. It was very informative and helpful as a first source of information. Most of the information was very intriguing, understanding why many bodybuilding myths could be debunked with evidence was helpful. I wouldn’t use this as my only source of information, there is a lot of information and studies out for supplements and to come to a conclusion could be difficult. For example, I use a different type of protein, the author is not wrong, but we may have different goals and opinions. After reading through the reviews, I do agree that the author loses scientific backing at the end of the book. I do agree with his views in these section but a reference here and there about creatine and Pre-workout would be nice.Overall, I recommend this read. As with everything use it as supplemental information with other research.

Glad I picked this one up!
I found this book to be an excellent guide to strength training. The author goes through everything you will need to know and do to burn more fat and build better strength in your body. I really appreciate that this book emphasizes creating lean, athletic muscles that are strong but not overly bulky. As a woman, this is exactly what I am looking for. I want to keep my muscles long and lean while still being as strong as possible. Although the author stresses lean muscles, you will still need to lift weights that are quite heavy, so you will be building up your endurance and strength over time. Also, there is no cardio, so this may appeal to many people! The author also states that he works out only 3 hours per week, and still maintains these results. That is definitely a selling point! Each strength move included in the book has a description, and recommended sets and reps. There is even sample routines that you can either use as is, or adjust to make it fit your personal situation and desired results. This book will help you set goals for yourself as well as find the right routine long term. The author touches on healthy nutrition, and includes some helpful bonus material. Glad I picked this one up!

Like talking to a friend
Great read! This book was lended to me by a friend and then I got the kindle version. Reading the book felt like talking to a friend and getting advice from a real life person not trying to gain or sell anything from you. He keeps it real and simple. Most of the things in the book I already kind of knew but he just reassures them for me and makes me feel like I am following the right steps. Also I don’t feel like a loner, confused about what things I should be eating. Thank you!! Great book.

What a great guide!
"A great pre-workout combo is black coffee and creatine." WOW - as a coffee lover this is my favorite quote! This book is a must have for every person who wants to eat healthier. Improve your diet by learning about the right food choices, poison in our food, calories, what foods to avoid and much more!Although this book is aimed at body builders, in my opinion this is a must have for every person who would like to cook healthier food.Very well done, thank you!

Strength Training Program 101 is worth more than gold!
I'm so glad I picked up this book! I was struggling months, trying to get my body into a perfect shape for summer. I made so much research and found some good and some bad tips, but it was exhausting and I lost my motivation pretty fast. But with this book, I know exactly what to do and how to get the best results fast, with little effort and keep being motivated throughout the whole process! Strength Training Program 101 is worth more than gold!

Great info FAST
Very easy read. I read the whole book in one sitting. Everything was easy to understand with straight to the point info. Enough science to help you understand but not so much that you need a degree to get through it. I’ve definitely learned a bit that needs to be added to or subtracted from my plan. Great book overall

It's just sensible
This book could usefully be read by anyone – not just those who want to gain strength.Three years ago I suffered constant pain, hobbled when I walked , had greatly interrupted nights and was fearful when not in sight of a lavatory.A nutritionist put me right. I now sleep well, have no pain, am happy to undertake 10 mile walks and have no problems with my digestive system. That nutritionist was not Mac McLean, but it could have been – because he offers the same advice. Regardless of whether you want to lift weights (as it happens – I do !) – anyone who follows this advice will feel better. It’s just sensible. But Marc provides psychological and scientific backing for this common sense.I think the chapter on gut health could usefully have less science and more emphasis on actual foods, rather than theoretical foods.Overall – an excellent guide to eating well

Simple brief comprehensive good sense
I have read and tried most fashionable diets over the last 20 years. Marc shows obvious knowledge and experience of these as well as the science that informs them. This short book is a concise critique of the pros and cons of nutrition for strength training and good health including the use of supplements. Good sense told in a friendly supportive way. Highly recommended !
