Bacon came out perfectly!!
Just used this for the first time and the bacon came out great!! Easy to cook and easy to clean. I like the fact that you can cook more bacon strips on this than some of the other microwave bacon cookers.

This really works!
The real deal! As a bacon enthusiast I am excited about this product. I have searched for non -messy ways to book bacon ,to no avail. I looked at microwave products and watched you tube videos until I decided to try this one. It just came so we have only used it once so I can't speak to durability yet. Makin Bacon is jusy as advertised! We played with using different numbers of bacon strips to get the crispness down and it was terrific ! What I like- The handle made it easy and safe to get it in and out of microwave . The drip pan was deep enough to hold the grease from an entire pack of bacon. It is very easy to use and paper towel gets the spatter. It locks the parts in for dishwasher washing and it doesn't take much room. You can cook an entire pack of bacon to your desired crispness. To avoid the strips sticking together I will cook 1/2 a pound at a time. I also straightened the pieces when they were finished to get my crisp , straight pieces. I plan to add a piece of paper towel under the cooker to catch any additional spatter but there wasn't any that I could see. This is a simple tool but an amazingly useful one!

Rankin Makin' Bacon
I couldn't resist buying the Makin' Bacon after seeing it reviewed on YouTube. It's easy to use and very easy to clean up - just pour the bacon grease from the collection pan in a suitable container, put the three bacon racks in the pan, put the pan in the sink with some warm water & a little dishwashing soap. A few minutes later rinse, wipe the contents dry and repack with the clever twist on/off retainer. As easy as it gets - no need for a dishwasher! Getting the correct degree of bacon crispiness for your taste is not so easy. First, the bacon slices hang over the T shaped racks, and without fail the section of the slices on top (the middle of the bacon slice) is crispier than the sections on the bottom (the ends of the bacon slice). I believe this is because the grease runs down the slices as the bacon cooks and the top dries out first. Second, if you cook only a few slices (i.e. for one person) and use the high power setting on your microwave, there is a heck of a lot of splatter as the rapid heating of the bacon creates an almost explosive evaporation of water within the fat of the bacon. It's much better to use a lower power setting for a longer period of time. Third, if you really load up the Makin Bacon to the max, the bacon cooks quite slowly and the ends of some of the slices are undercooked. You also have to learn how to drape paper towels over the bacon to catch any splatter without the towels drooping into the grease collected in the pan. It takes patience and experimentation to get bacon the way you like it, and even then there will be some variation throughout the length of the slice. Of course the plus side of all this experimentation is that you get to eat the test specimens! Even with the above difficulties I recommend the product. It's inexpensive, works well with some initial trial and error, easy to clean up and a lot lighter than the old cast iron skillet.

Best bacon method I have ever used,
I love, love, love the makin bacon dish! I must have bought my original one back in the early 1990's, which was lost when we moved recently. I was so happy when I found that it was still available at Amazon, com. It is the best bacon cooking method that I have ever used. If you don't overload the dish (I usually only put two strips of bacon on each rack at a time), wrap long strips of paper towels around it in a criss-cross fashion so that all sides are covered and the paper towel ends are long enough to tuck securely underneath you will avoid the grease splatters. Yes, the bacon is draped over the little "racks" and yes the raw bacon ends will touch the bottom of the dish when you start out, but they shrink up as they cook and will not be in the grease when finished. The bacon cooks quickly so you can make as many batches as needed pretty fast. Using the handle and tipping the dish to a corner, the grease is easy to pour out for disposal or into the stainless steel fat storage keeper if you are an old-fashioned southern cook and save the bacon grease for cooking/flavor for favorite dishes. I was surprised/glad to see an improvement has been made so that there is now a little piece added to hold the racks in place when in storage. It can be washed in your dishwasher (I would wash the little racks by hand.) Personally I wash my makin bacon by hand in hot soapy dish water, as it cleans really easily.

Works okay, though a bit fragile
Works okay. The design suggests that all the grease drips into the tray below, and most of it does. In actual practice, bacon still spits some amount of grease on the microwave door and walls. And the build feels fragile. I haven't broken it yet, though perhaps that's because I have been more careful than I think should be necessary.

5 out of 5 stars โ This thing literally changed my life (and saved my microwave from becoming a bacon crime scene) I used to cook bacon the old-fashioned way: skillet on the stove, grease splattering like it was auditioning for a horror movie, smoke alarm going off, wife yelling "Scott, you're turning the kitchen into an oil rig!" Cleanup? Forget it. I'd be scrubbing for days while the bacon sat there judging me. Then I discovered the Original Makin' Bacon dish. Friends, this is not just a gadgetโit's a miracle wrapped in white plastic. You lay the strips on those little ridges (like bacon sunbathing on a tiny plastic beach), pop the lid on, nuke it for a minute or so per slice, and BOOMโperfectly crispy bacon that's floating above a pool of its own grease like it's too good to touch the stuff. Low mess? More like NO mess. The fat drains away into the tray below, and your microwave stays cleaner than my conscience after skipping the gym. The bacon comes out excellent crispโthat satisfying snap when you bite it, not the sad, floppy disappointment you get from other microwave attempts. I was genuinely impressed. Like, "Whoa, this actually works" impressed. And the best part? It sells itself. I cooked a batch in front of my skeptical brother-in-law, and the moment he saw those golden, grease-free strips emerge, his eyes went wide. "Dude... I need one." Sold. No pitch needed. Pros: Crispy bacon in minutes without turning your kitchen into a grease apocalypse Super easyโliterally foolproof (even I can't mess it up) Low mess (pour out the grease like you're draining a tiny bacon hot tub) Makes you look like a breakfast wizard to guests Cons: My pan doesn't get jealous anymore (RIP skillet self-esteem) I now eat way more bacon because it's too convenient If you're tired of bacon betrayal from your microwave or your stove, grab the Original Makin' Bacon. It's not just cookingโit's bacon liberation. Would buy again. Already planning to gift one to everyone I know. Because nothing says "I care" like enabling their bacon addiction with zero cleanup guilt.

The Original Makin Bacon Microwave Bacon...
I've had mine for a while and love it! It is so easy to use and clean, the bacon doesn't stick to it. Plus, there is less grease on the bacon bc it drips off into the bottom. Highly recommend.

The ABSOLUTE BEST bacon cooker for the microwave
My family used to use the round with ridges styled microwave bacon dish but found that you could only cook about 4-5 slices at a time and the ridges at the base of the dish created lots of extra surfaces to clean (nobody liked to clean after use). This bacon dish solves both problems. Can cook many strips of bacon at one time, is easily cleaned at end of use and is BPA free. Excellent product!

Crisp bacon
Excellent product. Bacon stays out of the bacon fat and the fat can be reused once it is poured out. Bacon comes out crisp and non greasy

I like this
I have only been able to cook 6 pieces of bacon at a time, so feel the photo is a bit misleading. However, once you figure out the perfect cooking time for your preference, it is great for adding bacon to any quick meal. East to use and easy to clean. Great for a quick addition to your meal. Would recommend.
