Fits our Coleman LED & Swing Wall Frames !!

*by L***T on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 24, 2013*

With some modification it FITS our Coleman Swing Wall frame and the Coleman LED frame canopy both. [Numbered highlights at bottom for those who want to skip all the details and majority of longer text here.]Though if frames are set to the fullest height it can be a tad short so we set it to the middle height peg and it fitsas pefect as you'll ever get. We intended to go all the way around the outside of the poles like it shows in this picture with the Wenzel frame. You can do that with the LED canopy but not the Swing Wall. The swing arm mechanism gets in the way with that. So one side it fits just fine on the outside the Swing Wall side we have to attach inside the poles because it can't wrap around them. Also the coleman canopy cover material doesn't have the matching hook velcro where they appear on the Screen Walls we will add some via sewing the hook to the canopy canvas to mate up with the already sewn loop on the screen. It's easy to match up without even marking the canopy because it's almost directly under the coresponding Coleman's velcro wrap to attach and secure to the frame. So we will add 5-6 inches of 1.5 - 2 inch wide hook velcro to the lower inside edge of the canopy cover and voila this shade will fit perfect as if it's custom made. (Which by then it is.)This will do the same for the LED canopy and I would assume the regular straight leg version of Coleman Canopy systems too.Now why didn't we purchase the coleman screen house instead? Because it has bad and I mean BAD reviews as being made with such poor screen materials it falls apart as well as snags and often looks used upon opening the brand new package. So REVIEWS count. The EZ-up brands said a lot of their walls are only 80 inches and are too short for Coleman frames. I offered to sew on a 6 inch strip of fabric to the inside of the screen wall all around to & divide into pockets for storage of small items but more to add water bottles or weighted items to help hold it down to ground & in place. I was told not to bother. I may do it because really I bought it for someone else to use primarily but it's also mine & I can see where it might be helpful. I got that hint from an EZ-up sun wall where they have a pocket that helps hold it down against flapping in the wind. True not everyone is going to have an access to a sewing machine so think outside the box and ask a relative or friend that sews or would let you use their machine or help you out with the project. Or better yet call a few church-cummunity-sewing bee groups & or the local fabric shops who often maintain a list of sewers who hire out for work. Tell them this material is not heavy duty & all sewing machines should be fine & cause no harm to sew. Just must be able to handle velcro hook or loop depending. (Buy the velcro for them in advance.) I can add a few more velcro patches around the upper areas on same plane as the already patches to secure it a few more places to make sure there is no gaps where pesty bugs can fly in. (But we found the gaps weren't there if we wrapped it around the poles on the outside verses in the inside so for the Swing Arm canopy we'll need to do that to just one side.) I was going to make a floor but everyone involved in the use of this for their ham radio camp agree it won't be needed and may even prefer not having to mess with one. (If I do make a floor it will be optional to use or not. It will be bucket style with an edged wall of about 5-6 inches all around and of course that wonderful invention of velcro along the bottom of screen material...USE pile/loop on the screen wall unit only and reserve hook on on all other parts including the canvas of the canopy. So nothing would grab or scratch the netting of the screen while stored or otherwise in use.I didnt' find any feedback if this Wenzel Smartshade fit Colemans so I came back to make sure people know it can. The slight dropped down pole position does not cause much height loss and you really don't notice it at all. Many of the fellas who will be using this in the future are 6 feet tall as is my husband but assure me it's still plenty high. I like that it folds up small & will make a light weight nylon bag to store because the plastic it comes in will not last for years as I expect the screen will with good care & proper storage. Why a star off? I think the zipper could be better. But will be easy to repair/replace if ever it does fail. I don't grasp the ties half way down along the poles both inside & outside. It's like just string hanging there but if there had been another line next to it you could tie it to the pole inside or outside pole position. We don't like the hook/elastics they provide for corner etc. use. We are not fans of or like the metal hooks on elastics that help attach to the corners and sides while hanging up. There are several designs that might be better. And then there are zero instructions. Not even a picture or cartoon style drawing. Pretty easy to figure out otherwise but something should be included for those who have no experience with this kind of thing. Locate the tabs with metal clips/hooks and the velcro on the wider white end and that IS the TOP to help you get it positioned in the right direction. Loved the fella who said he had it upside down at first:))) I get it!!! You would maybe think the wider white would be down.1) Fits coleman canopy frames. Regular/LED pretty well but won't match the velcro patches...however if wrapped around the outside of the poles not to inside most gapping will be pulled taught at top.2) Lower the height of frame to middle selection of holes on all four poles to reach the ground completely.3) Coleman Swing Wall Canopy will need some modification to the inside poles on swingwall side but can work with some effort.4) Metal hooks/clips that help hang it to the upper frame doesn't fit well over metal frame but corners you attach to one another around the upper pole by hooking one clip to the other or one to the elastic loop on the other. Maybe you could remove the clips and use a self wrapping strip of velcro inside the elastic loops or ignore the metal hooks and add a self hook velcro wrap 3/4 to 1 inch wide would be ideal and these are not expensive and sold on Amazon in variety of lengths even colors besides black.) I would not place hook velcro however in with the screen for fear it could snag the screen. But a few strips of it would be useful and you could just place in a zip lock baggy and keep it with the screen just not where it could come in contact during storage and remove them as you take them off the frame and as you remove the screen each time.

Did not fit our tent perfectly but still got the job done!

*by S***L on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 28, 2016*

With an upcoming craftshow in September, I wasn't sure what the weather would be like in Ohio. Sometimes its freezing cold, and then other times is sweltering hot. My craft tent already had solid sides, so I was prepared for cold weather, but I was worried I would burn up from a heat stroke if it were too hot outside. Naturally, the temperature soared into the 90's both days, and it was miserable. We used the screen side to help protect us from the sun in the morning hours, and then took them down in the afternoon to let a breeze sweep through the vending areas. Although the screen walls didnt actually fit our tent, we were able to rig them to do the job.

    Instant screened porch!

*by M***Z on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 6, 2014*

I used this to create a budget screened porch. I have a 10x25' covered back porch which has the house walls on 2 sides, but the other two sides are open to the weather, with only a 2-foot knee-wall. The mosquitoes were really bad this year, making it impossible to sit out there without being eaten alive, but I don't have hundreds of dollars to build and install "real" custom screens right now. So I decided to try this "smartshade" instead, and it works great! It's a good-quality screen, made of two 20-foot sections which zip together, and is about 7' in height - this is the perfect size to cover the opening between my porch roof and the knee walls. I used bulldog clips to hang the screen so that it can be easily removed for cleaning, storage, etc., and also secured the bottom edge with weights to keep it from flapping in strong wind. It's lovely to sit out there now - bug free! (I live in sub-tropical South Texas so mosquito season isn't quite over yet down here.)
