I live in lower Texas where humidity is an every day thing. It also rains a lot. The bird feeder was built strongly but the wood it was made of started to mildew shortly after I got it. Birds didn't seem to like it having a roof that they had to fly under. After the feeder started to get mildew spots her and there the birds would not use it. I cleaned it and sanded down the wood to remove the mildew. Unfortunately the birds would avoid eating from the feeder even after my attempts to make it suitable. I eventually threw it away. I think it would work well in a less humid environment. It was well made and sturdy.

Before I had the first bird at my new cedar birdhouse, it was visited by squirrels! Looked out this morning and saw a squirrel butt up, head first into the feeder tube via the top finial/cap having a good 'ol time. A buddy was waiting on the shed roof for his turn. THE DANG SQUIRREL HAD REMOVED THE CAP!!!I immediately ran out and shooed him off and removed the hose from the wonderfully study pole it sits atop. ANY suggestions as how to keep this from happening??

This bird feeder is really nice. Not as red as in the photo- more natural wood. Unfortunately we get really heavy rain where we live, so the food kept getting wet and moldy. I don’t think it was due to any fault of the feeder, we just need something with a very large roof. So if you live someplace with heavy rain, I wouldn’t recommend. Otherwise, it’s a really pretty feeder.

The bird feeder arrived and was nicely packaged and smelled like cedar wood (nice). Somebody else mentioned improper dimensions. I measured mine and it is approximately 11.5 by 12.5 by 12.5 inches. I am very happy with the dimensions and how it looks. I won't quibble over a 1/4 or 1/2 inch. I am planning to put on some clear waterproofing sealant to help it last longer in the elements here in Oregon. Once I get this done and put some bird seeds in it, I think that I, and the birds will be very happy.

The wall of the plastic tube is too thin to stay well seated. There is nothing in the lid to hold the plastic tube on center. There should be some small blocks on the roof to align the tube and a thicker wall tube is needed. The feeder is poorly assembled with staples, some of which split the wood, while other's failed to secure pieces properly. I had to retro-fit mine to keep the components aligned and had to glue and clamp the roof because it was falling apart. Also not squirrel-proof. Disappointing purchase.

This bird feeder is beautiful & seems very well constructed. I purchased this as a gift & the recipient absolutely loved it. The pictures don't do this feeder justice. I thought it looked really nice in the pictures, but after seeing it in person I had to purchase a second one for myself!

This is the second one I bought. Well made, good design, sturdy, easy to clean/fill, birds love it. The first one I have had for a year. Still perfect, Bought a second one so I can have two feeders in the yard. I didn't buy it to replace the first one. Definitely recommend.

This was part of a Christmas gift for my young nephews and niece. They learn a lot by watching the birds in their backyard. It was a nice, educational alternative to 'toys'.

I am impressed by the quality of this bird feeder. For the price it’s a good find. It’s heavy and sturdy. I like that when it’s windy the feeder doesn’t blow around and spill the seeds all over the ground.

The top came off almost immediately. I had to gorilla glue it back on. Birds and squirrels love this feeder. I have to fill it everyday.
