The bottom crimp is solid, no leaks. Don't fill it more than half full at a time. Do not tip it more than 75 degrees. The top does not have a rubber seal and the oil will come out underneath and ooze down the can.

I needed a simple and effective way to help keep my chains lubricated with bar oil (30w oil) when cutting wood with my chainsaw. It’s the perfect way to keep the bar channel and chain lubed throughout a wood cutting session. It’s handy to take along too. Note: I also used a drop of “Blue Loctite” (Blue stays soft/permeable) on the threads of the metal nipple on the end, and on the 5” long thin metal tube threads just to keep everything together and leak free when out in the field.

Needs base of some sort to help keep it upright as it will leak out snout if tipped over, or just use IN shop on the bench. Pumps almost too well, doesn't lose prime. Practice before using, squeeze too hard and it will shoot a precise stream of oil twenty feet plus. (For that reason, Keep Away From Children and Equally Immature Adults)

so this thing looked great especially for the price, however it came full of some sort of clear grease that had to be cleaned out before it could be filled with oil and used. now admittedly I bought this to sit on my drill press for quick and easy access to oil for drilling, however I first noticed quite a puddle after sitting for a few weeks. thinking i was just overzealous with my filling of the canister originally, i wiped everything down and put it back on the press where it sat for a few more weeks. again, nice puddle of oil around the base....and its clear that oil is coming out of the bottom "seam" used to make the can. while the pumping mechanisim works fine, i dont have much use for a can that constantly leaks...so buyer beware.

Reading the reviews for this product as well as quite a few similar products, I expected these to leak somewhat. To mitigate that, I assembled it with a lot of PTFE tape on the nozzle threads and the applicator tube. This works okay at low pressure, but it still leaks (especially at the nozzle threads) when using it with a ball oiler. It's much better than without any PTFE though. I have not had the base seam or the large threads leak so far with either cutting oil or ISO68. No rust inside any of the three that I ordered. Over all, I'm glad I bought these even with their shortcomings... and I'm much more willing to accept those shortcomings at this price than I would be at more than double it for some of the other options.

Product is good quality for the price and is easy to fill and use. I would purchase product again and would recommend to others.

I use it for a special lubrication on my guns, it's a bit big but if you use some control this oil can really delivers. If it sits for a day or two you should aim it somewhere safe as it primes, may get 22 or three puffs of air. but then remember it's tough to oil get out of clothing. Trust me on this one, don't ask how I know.
