Best Pals Sofia Original 16" Rag Doll

So thrilled that we had found these modest, well made cloth dolls. Keepsake quality. A throwback to simpler days. Thoughtfully available in several ethnically diverse representations. A true rarity these days, as there is hardly another widely available, traditional cloth doll, that encourages little girls to be just that, little girls! Also purchased Lily, Kathy, Isabelle and Janet! All fantastically made. Hair is secure and is easily unbraided, re-styled and/or braided again. Clothing is excellent quality, easily removable, and many dresses from popular 16-18 inch dolls will fit these dolls as well. However, I would like to see the extra dresses and nightgown by the same manufacturer available from this vendor.Regarding the packaging: Dolls came shipped in a well packed box and they were enclosed in a plastic bag (no individual box). I personally did not find this offensive. If purchasing as a gift, you may need to locate an appropriate box to ease the task of wrapping. Bangs of our dolls hair were kept neat during shipping by virtue of an easily removable strip of plastic wrapping.

I needed to get something for my soon to be niece's 1st birthday, I remembered playing with my own rag doll (I still have her) and thought this would be a great idea as the doll was soft and could grow with her. After searching for days I finally came across this doll that was affordable and adorable. She loves her Sofia and the family was very impressed as well (points for me!) I loved her so much that even though I'll pass my own doll down to my daughter I picked up another Sofia just to hold on to for my future baby and one for my best friends daughter as well.

For me, the most important part of a child's doll is the EXPRESSIVENESS of its face. The SOFIA doll rates 5 stars in that category.Looks exactly like its Amazon photo. Well-made rag body, lovely yarn hair in braids, pretty dress, stockings and shoes. Bought for my 8 yr. old granddaughter who lives in Kenya, has 3 older brothers. So I love adding to her doll collection. Came well-packaged.

This is the loveliest doll! My daughter picked one out to give to her sponsored child, and my husband and I gave another one to our daughter for Christmas. She loves it, and I really like it too. I have bought a few other, more expensive dolls for our little girl in the past... most notably the Bamboletta, Waldorf-type doll... and I actually prefer this. It's more movable and seems simpler but nicer to me. It's even sweeter in person. The red dress and ribbons are particularly lovely. Would definitely recommend.

I bought this to give to a little girl living in a shelter in the Bronx for Christmas. She immediately adopted her. Sofia is soft well made and old-fashioned. She is better for a very young girl. The older little girls look for things they are familiar with, things they see on tv.

This doll has delicate embroidered facial features. She is completely soft, a traditional rag doll. I love that she's sixteen inches tall and not a little bitty thing. I'm sending this doll to a child in Africa who loves dolls. I figured it would be easy for her to carry around and then tuck into bed with her at night. She's simple, but adorable. I'm sure she'll be loved lots.

I agree with all of the other reviews for this lovely creation. The doll and its clothing are well made and pretty. Worth your coins!
