「あなた　私のもとから　突然消えたりしないでね」‥なぜかこのフレーズが思い出されて、久しぶりに取り出したアルバム（初版は1983年12月1日LP）。ユーミンに合わせて歌おうとしたけれど、涙があふれてきて、声になりません。歌詞が深すぎて。わかった風をして、実は何も知らなかった。ただただユーミンの歌声に聞き入ってしまいました、どの曲もどの曲も。折しも2017年12月3日の読売新聞で、1977年に打ち上げられたボイジャー1号が、現在、太陽圏を離れ星間空間を飛行中で、37年間休眠状態にあった4基の軌道制御用エンジンの再噴射に成功し、劣化した姿勢制御用エンジンの役目を引き継ぐとNASAが発表したことを知りました。ユーミンにもVOYAGERにも、時空を超えた感動を与えていただきました。

素晴らしいとしか言い様のない完成度のアルバムだ！この作品から松任谷由実の新しい冒険(ボイジャー)が始まったような気さえする。それは【宇宙船】や【タイムマシン】や【ヨット】で未開の世界へと魂を航海させてくれる…特に｢Tropic Of Capricorn｣の世界観はお見事！それはまるで映画｢太陽がいっぱい｣のように鮮やかで眩しくて胸に迫る。

学生の頃はダンデライオンや時をかける少女のアルバムというイメージが強かったが、歳を重ね聴くうちに本当に名曲揃いのアルバムと感じるようになった。今やユーミンでは一番好きなアルバムである。特に好きな曲は、街に迫るタイフーンと女性の心の中に芽生えた小さな台風を見事に描写した「TYPHOON」と夢を諦められずに彼に別れを告げる女性を歌う「私を忘れる頃」。共に何度聴いたか分からないほど、私の中では名曲中の名曲。ユーミンは女性の情緒や機微を詩にする力は男性ながら、本当に凄いと思う。
