Size:#1 The Precision Twist R18H jobber drill bit is a high helix design, 118-degree conventional point, round shank drill bit made of HSS with an uncoated (bright) finish. It is suitable for drilling to a depth up to four times the diameter of the drill. Good for portable or machine drilling. The shank diameter is the same as the drill size. The R18H series has a type W flute form, with a high (fast) helix (35- to 45-degree) angle that has best performance drilling into copper, aluminum magnesium, and synthetic materials (thermoplastics). The high helix design enhances chip formation and evacuation of chips (also called swarf). Coolant has a better flow to the drill point for heat dissipation, and higher speeds and feeds for increased productivity. The uncoated finish helps keep costs down, while providing acceptable performance in most situations. The finish helps increase chip flow in soft materials.
