Essential
Seller was excellent. Product arrived well packaged, and on-time. In addition, the seller sent (in advance) PDFs of what the product looks like, and information about what the readings mean. Everything is as advertised. You can watch UTubes of people using this product (and I'm planning at least one of my own).It turns on in seconds, displays three different forms of information -- current energy density, energy level and peak energy level -- in numeric readout as well as two LED scales and just works exactly as advertised. In my wildest pipe dream the only thing I would wish for is a way to 3D map an area so that I could see a movie/animation that showed the concentric rings of the same energy density. Maybe the units costing thousands or tens of thousands can or will do this in the future.Having now used the product for several days, I can say that everyone should have one of these. Why? Because you never know where, and what, the threats are. Some areas I thought would be a problem (commercial businesses) turned out to have zero risk (levels below 1). Unfortunately, other areas including where I live have very high, to extremely high, levels. The seller's PDF said that levels below 10 are a slight concern. In the immediate neighborhood -- one block from cell phone masts on top of a retirement home -- I measured levels up to 17,000...on the front steps of neighbor homes I have taken drastic action on my property with peak inside levels of 1,000 (including 700+ levels one foot from the dog's bed). I now carry this when I go out -- it gives surprisingly close (factor of two) readings even from inside a vehicle. Some of the measurements I've taken include: 60,000+ in front of microwave ovens (tested several). Wireless networking in the high thousands, and constant. Smart meters in the thousands -- and unfortunately these things are transmitting very regularly. Cordless phones are very high, and the cordless base stations are even worse. My home no longer uses cordless phones or wireless networking (I had stopped the latter years ago due to security concerns). When I use the microwave, I leave the room -- levels are in the hundreds if you do this. For me this product is one of the most important I've ever purchased. I've printed out and delivered pamphlets of my story and am offering the use of the meter to neighbors so they can see for themselves. Eye opening is an understatement.[Resubmitting my review...Amazon at first accepted it, then removed it without telling me...]

Great all-around Meter for detecting wireless hazards
I didn't want to spend too much time with a detailed review on this but after seeing the bogus negative reviews on here, I had to chip in.First off this is about as good as it gets as far as detecting just about every conceivable wireless device that is commonly around us these days. If there is one negative I can find about this meter is that it doesn't pick up really fast spikes from devices such as smart meters very well. You can clearly hear every spike but it will only register 25-50% of the time on the display readout. This is not a big deal though unless you want really scientific data on every spike. You will still get a good idea of what average power the Smart Gas/Water/Electric Meter puts out. What this does better than most any other meter is that it's very sensitive and covers a much larger Microwave frequency range than most others. Some meters are better for Smart Meters but only cover up to 3 Ghz frequency. So they will not detect the 5.8 Ghz phones or Routers that are increasing in popularity. The LED lights also make using this device so simple and if you want more technical info, the display will give you near exact measurements of what it's reading. Are there meters out there that are better and give better info? Defintely but it will cost you... to the tune of thousands of dollars in most cases. I bought this simply because it's very educational as well as great at showing you what you can't see or hear. Always use it check out areas I haven't been to before to locate Cell Towers and the like. Very Pleased with it having owned it for the past 6 months or so now.Pros:Very sensitive and picks up weak microwave signals from very far awayPicks up a very broad range of microwave signals ranging from 200 Mhz to 8 Ghz and beyondInformative LCD display that shows exact up-to-date readingsSimple LED displays that show peak of signal strength and averageVery Helpful Audio function that allows to hear what type of signal is being emittedBattery life is great around 15-20 hours with two rechargeable AA NiMh batteriesCons:Does not always detect really fast microwave emissions from devices such as Smart MetersNot a Tri-Axis Meter

simple to use, consistent readings.
I am pleased with the meter and how simple it is to use. The meter gives consistent readings and it was a huge wake up call as to how much EMF we were generating and absorbing in our home. We were not surprised how much RF the Wi-Fi router emits, but it was the microwave, the cordless phones and the lap tops that really shocked us. We replaced the cordless phone with a wired phone, installed CAT 6 wires for the lap tops and switched off the Wi-Fi. We reduced the use of our microwave significantly and turn the cells off when not in use. Several friends and family members have requested that I bring the meter to their houses and help identify problem spots. They have all been very surprised at the crazy high amounts of RF that they have in their homes. One big shocker at my daughters house was her son's Xbox. For the last 2 years it has been running 24/7 in his room. I don't know if there is any correlation to his exposure, but about a year ago she noticed that he started having trouble sleeping and concentrating at school and he seems to get more agitated over little things. I think purchasing the Acoustimeter has been one of the best investments I have made in years since it helped us pinpoint problems and then made changes at our house for our health. I am really curious what kind of reading I would discover at our local business that offer free Wi-Fi but I may never go out shopping again once I discover the truth. lol
