EVERY HUMAN BEING MUST READ THIS BOOK....
I can't tell you how elated I am to have been recommended this very profound yet quick read that kept me riveted from beginning to end... I finished it in about 2 days reading from my kindle app on my phone as well as the PC Amazon Cloud Reader version while multitasking at work... VERY inexpensive and well worth ingesting..... The title may be simple but this is not some elementary manual on "love" in the commercially personified or rudimentary way.... Rather it is a very deep and conscious guide towards loving with more than words or emotions or in idealized concept..... I really feel this book is VITAL for every human being to read... The principles in this book speak to a deeper consciousness to foster healthier relationships with every love in your life-- spouses/mates/friends/ siblings/ family/ children etc . It's only 118 pages and visually spaced for a quick and easy flow. It's the kind of book you read and some months or years later re-read again like it's the first time all over .... Consider it a life manual to keep referring back to... I implore you to take the time to ingest this important spiritual work....... and may it enrich you as greatly as it has enriched me....

A lovely, powerful book
"To love without knowing *how* to love wounds the person we love." Such a simple sentence with so much wisdom packed in one sentence. This distinction between the feeling of love and the skill to love is an important one. We all know that but never have I had a teacher clearly identify the differences between true love and unhealthy attachments so clearly. And lo and behold, true love is not about identifying and fixing the deficiencies in others, but rather, cultivating love and healing in yourself first. If we love with a wounded, desperate heart, we do great harm to others and only perpetuate our own suffering while creating fresh trauma for others. And on and on it goes. This lovely book has inspired me to do more work on my own wounds while reminding me of simple, powerful practices to show love for my spouse and children. Listen deeply. Show the same reverence that you offer an honored guest. Cultivate joy at every opportunity.

Beautiful Intentions with Room to Grow
I am not a self-help book type of person, and I used to take a weird kind of pride in that. But when my partner of 12 years left me last spring, it disrupted my life in ways I couldn't just shrug off. At a friend's recommendation, I bought this book with a big dose of skepticism. My first read through was fast - not because of the simplistic language and ideas, but because I was looking for the answers to my questions and solutions to my problems. On my second read, I slowed down and appreciated the surface messages and the beautiful language. I'm on my 10th or 11th read through this book, and often pick it up to read passages whenever I'm feeling down to spark good, healthy thinking (I'm so anti-self-help I still have an aversion to calling it "meditation"). But the book itself won't make you better: you have to put in the work and learn to be whole. The book is there to provide healthy relationship goals, but in the end, you always need to be responsible for your own happiness. If there are any shortcuts, I haven't found them yet.The author gives wonderful guidance and advice, and provides good descriptions of what a loving relationship should be. I don't agree 100% with everything in the book, but it's full of beautiful intentions and open-hearted encouragement.

A wonderful primer on compassion
A great introduction to the idea of loving kindness and how to nurture love, compassion and understanding in ourselves and for the people around us. It is a short but profound read that can instantly change the way we approach misunderstandings and take ownership of our own suffering and unhappiness. The book includes simple, straightforward advice to resolve these disconnections by becoming more in flow with the present moment and nurturing the best and most positive parts of us and those we love. A must read for anyone who hopes to "do no harm" in all of their relationships and wants more inner peace and contentment.

The meaning of "True" Love
From the first few pages of this book Thich Nhat Hanh lays out what "True" Love means, and how to recognize it. This book awakened me from the false sense of Love that I had been confused with, and showed me how to Love without conditions. This book saved my marriage, my family, and by extension my life. Thank you Thay (Thich Nhat Hanh) for sharing your life with the world, it means everything.

Beautiful book.
Beautiful book, simply written, but hits home with all the basic truths. Because, really, it is all so simple. We just have to listen and do. Wise words from such a wise man. Excellent price, I have the Kindle version. I can carry it with me and use it for inspiration when needed.

This book is excellent. The language is simple
This book is excellent. The language is simple, yet profound. Very practical advice on how to care for others and oneself in many areas of life. I am Christian, but the way it is written is deeply resonant with my values. It is not explicitly a Buddhist text, as there are only a few (4 or 5?) statements referring to Buddhism in the whole book. I recommend "How to Love" for anyone regardless of creed or religious background!

Short strictures remind us how to be loving
These aren't earth shattering revelations or passages that will suddenly change your life. Instead, these are reminders of how to live a loving life, of how to be a loving person. While they're great to read at any time, I like reading one before bed or when I'm having a particularly hard day.

Totally wise.
What I love about thich Nhat Hahn is that he is totally devout and committed to Zen Buddhism, but doesn't have the harsh and judgemental attitude of others in other religions who so often Deen themselves as superior. There is of course a great deal of rationalism and analytical insight underlying all his teachings and although his message is one of absolute warmth and understanding, this is something I find hard to take in Buddhism in general, but if you can fully embrace the concepts of impermanence and nothingness with equanimity, then, happiness and an absence of fear no doubt results! I do love his teachings and think he is an exceptional and beautiful individual. Everything he says is true, it's more a question of whether we can open ourselves up fully to this truth and accept it and in acceptance practice it and thrive. Recommended as every book by Nhat Hahn is!

Beautiful book!
I think this happens to many of us; we have this feeling that we have not been loved, coming from childhood. We look for love everywhere else and have such a hard time finding it inside of us. This book will help you find that inner love you so desperately have been waiting for your whole life.It has become like a bible to me, I bring it with me everywhere I go.

Kind and compassionate
This is a wonderful book, I have read it many times. You can just open it up on a random page and find a pearl of wisdom for the day. Monk's teachings are filled with kindness and compassion. The only thing is the quality of the paper is below average. Nevertheless, I bought 4 and gifted to friends.

It is the perfect size to keep on a bedside table or in ...
I've had it about a month and my copy of the book is dogeared already. Each time I read a page (and I've now read the pages at least 3 times) I find I get more out of it. Paired with his other writings one can understand the contents of this little book at an important transformative depth. It is the perfect size to keep on a bedside table or in a backpack or purse to pull out for a quick read and refresher, and a reminder to breath, listen deeply and work on understanding the interconnectedness of oneself and others.
