OAI Gator AutoSkim with Basket - Automatic Pool Cleaner, Skimmer & Clarifier - Suction Skimmer for Pools

Purchased this due to my pool vacuum plugs into my pool skimmer and needed something to skim the pool water while my pool vacuum cleans my pool.I got it put it together followed the directions to the T, and it was not very effective. I also went on YouTube and looked at the videos that showed different adjustments. This product was ok but not as effective as I was hopping. it also kept my pool vacuum from cleaning the whole pool, after some feedback I received it was determined that it works better if you have a vacuum port on your pool.It is a great concept but not for my pool

My OAI Gator is attached to a Barracuda G4 automatic pool vac and it works great. Before purchasing the Gator, I cleaned my pool every other day. Now I clean it once a week. I can almost get by without cleaning it for two weeks, but I prefer to clean and check the chemicals regularly. The cleaning is minimal, unless we have a strong wind and leave and other debris fall into the pool. If you have decent suction from your pump, I highly recommend this product. I have two large pine trees about 10 feet from my pool. The Gator really works, in conjunction with my automatic pool cleaner/vac. The OAI Gator is a must have for a sparkling clean pool if you don't have a dedicated skimmer. I like this product so much I purchased another to replace the first one if/when it should stop working. I am amazed at how clean it keeps my pool.Update: 1/23/2021It's been almost a year since I purchased this product. I am still very pleased with it. It is still working without any problems. My pool gets full sun all day long from all angles. This product has not deteriorated, only a bit faded from the chlorine and the sun, but is still going strong. I have not had to use the second one I purchased yet.

total garbage. Less than three days time this thing took out our pump. Trash can is where it ended up. Really expensive GARBAGE~

You have to get it dialed in just right so it’s sucking the water but not popping out and then it sucks air. You have to use the enclosed gauge to get it dead center. Once it works it really is a floating skimmer. When I get it right I can have this skimmer and my built in skimmer working together. Really gets the surface clean

It would be a five star review, if not for the cost of the item. It works great and the surface of the pool has never looked better. Worth over $100 though? Probably not.

Doesn’t work as expected. I have a whole new system so pump performance is not an issue. It is easy to assemble it’s not worth the price. I’ve used a similar product for an above ground pool and it worked far better than this one.

This was the 2nd one we got. The 1st one didn’t work at all. The replacement came and was not what we would hoped. Did very little to help the pool. Sent this one back, awaiting refund that shows not pending? Please refund my $$&

Best way to keep pool surface clean. This is my second one. Would have given more stars but foam piece that supports basket fell apart first week and now using without the basket
