I was looking for a book to give more ideas on how to make my kids lunch box a balance food, but this book is mostly recepies of pizza or wraps or chilli. Not exactly that balance and not exactly that easy to make every morning before school. Also doesn't have that many pictures.

Not kid friendly
Bought this book looking for ideas for my preschooler’s lunches...items are not kid friendly at all. He took one look at the new food items and refused to eat the entire thing—even when I added sides that he normally enjoys. Also, I was surprised by how many of the recipes called for peanuts or other nut products given how rampant nut allergies are in small children. Not a very helpful book, unfortunately.

HEALTHY, VISUALLY APPEALING, & YUMMY!
Amazing little cookbook! Actually, it was more recipe packed than I anticipated! I love this because it is full of recipes and ideas for lunchboxes that are actually HEALTHY, visually appealing without taking too much time, and YUMMY! I had been trying to find something that would give me ideas but NOT be filled with time sucking things like creating a caterpillar or panda face. I have 6 lunches to pack everyday. I do not have time to make art with food. I just want it to be healthy and I love how she chooses colorful foods and lets the colorful foods make their own impact! I love the way this author thinks! I've been packing 3 days worth of lunches at a time, packing for all 4 kids as well as for my husband and myself. Every recipe I've tried, my kids have loved! I'm very pleased with my purchase!

Exactly what I was looking for - lunch for whole family
My child goes to an afternoon daycare program and I got the note that no mother wants to read - "please send your son with more food in the future." Apparently my small snack of string cheese and apple was not cutting it and he kept asking kids for their food. I've gotten a pretty good system down for healthy meal prepped dinners but it left lunch uninspired. The first meal I made was the kale quesadillas with pumpkin soup and oatmeal cookies. I doubled the recipe for my husband and I and it was a big hit for the family. A few other things I like - it is seasonally focused and so I'm reminded of things that I would naturally associate with a toddler meal - like pomegranate seeds. I also appreciate her note at the beginning of the book that outlines portion sizes for kids and that the book pictures are overstuffed for effect. It's worth noting that I have two kids and both my husband and I work - so I didn't find the meal prep on this bad. I was able to double the recipes and it lasted the family of four about 3 days.

Fun and Healthy Meals!
I purchased Little Foodie earlier this year and loved it, so I decided to order Little Bento. One of the things I love about this book (and Little Foodie) is that it's not preachy. If you can get organic cool, if not THAT'S OK. The author never condemns or judges. Michele Olivier just wants to help make simple, and healthy meals for your kids. I also like that she explains how to turn some of these meals into complete meals for the entire family or offers alternate meals if you don't want to make a certain meal. She also uses food children eat. I can't tell you how many sites I've been to telling me to go and get ethically sourced spirulina from the mountains of Ecuador or whatever else foolishness for a CHILD to eat. As with any cookbook, some things I'm probably not going to try because they appear to be a bit time consuming, but those recipes are very rare. The majority of the Bento lunches are quick and easy and most can be eaten throughout the week. The book is fun and relatable and offers great new ideas for lunch and/or dinner for the kids; or in my case goddaughter.

Great Inspiration and Very tasty recipies
This has been a great inspiration to me and having to pack lunches for my LO. So far we have both loved everything we've tried. Even the Cheesy Kale Quesadillas, which I didn't expect to like and did, and were his favorite so far. She gives great advice on how to mix things up for more variety, and each recipe makes it really easy to see how well it stores in the fridge or freezer so you can properly plan for packing multiple lunches at once.

MUST HAVE for vegetarian/health conscious bento makers!
I have a 10 year old who decided to be a vegetarian last year, and I was wracking my brains on what to make him for school lunches. This cookbook is a GODSEND!!! Healthy meals, lots of vegetarian options, ADORABLE pictures! I didn't realize what a gem it was going to be. I love the pictures of every bento. The presentation is just beautifully done and the book itself is great quality. It is going to last for a LONG time! I finally feel like I'm not sending him to school with a peanut butter sandwich everyday. A lot of the recipes take an hour or so from start to finish, so I make them at night the day before, but it's so worth it to have the peace of mind that he has something healthy and satisfying to eat. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! 6 stars!!!

Excellent for littles and bigs!
A friend of ours got us the Little Foodies book and I have used and/or adapted recipes from there for almost five years. Our little just started school and this book is a great starting point! The recipes aren't too fussy and the author is incredibly reasonable. There are no expectations for your lunches to look like the photographed lunches and she is explicit in letting you know that there are no expectations for your lunches to look like that which is important because, cognitively, you might *know* it's baloney and unrealistic for every meal to look 'grammable perfect, but there can be an internalized need for perfection and sense of failure.Anyway, the recipes are easy, flexible, and delicious for both kids and adults!

Inspiring recipes for bento lunches for your little one
This brilliant book is broken down into six main sections. Bento 101 covers the basics of bento boxes, great bento containers to purchase yourself along with packing principles and techniques to help with picky eaters. The book is organised by seasons starting with Fall/Autumn when children in the northern hemisphere start their school year, followed by the remaining seasons. It contains over 125 recipes for mains, sides, dips, snacks and treats for your lunchbox. The mains also work as a family dinner. Every recipe is clearly labelled so it’s easy to see which recipes are suitable for dietary requirements free from gluten, dairy and nuts. There is also a handy recipe index at the back by dietary label. A gem of a book that makes packed lunches so much brighter. Highly recommended.

My 4 year old picky eater loves all but 3 or 4 of these suggestions!
I asked my daughter to tag the things she would eat. We proceeded to go through the book and she tagged almost every page! We're excited to try them all. Most of the ideas are suitable for both her and I, so I plan to make double so we can both eat healthy, fun food (& save time making lunches!). I love the layout and all the little extra's mentioned, like the recipes for the dips and spices. The pictures are specific enough to provide me the inspiration I need to make an appetizing looking lunch and variety to my kids every day.

I bought this bento book just for myself and I'm glad I did
I don't have any kids, I bought this bento book just for myself and I'm glad I did! The recipies are all presented beautifully and the book really inspires me to be creative with my lunches. Her recipies look and sound delicious, I can't rate the book yet on taste because I haven't tried any, but I've looked through a lot of them and they all use simple, easy to find ingredients and sound delicious and are explained clearly. There are lots of extra little tips or variation you can try written at the end of the recipies. I am excited to try these!

Not enough pictures. Bad packaging.
I was very excited to realize this contains over 125 recipes and not just 32 as it says on the front. The cover and back is so beautiful I really wish there were more pictures so I'm quite dissapointed about that. The packaging could of been of better quality. The book is very bent and the top corners of the pages look like they were all folded over at one point.
