Needs frequent charging
I am happy with the performance and the display which is extremely clear. The "free" screen protector was a complete loss - literally - It has fallen off.The app is intrusive in needing too much personal information and there seems no way of backing up data without putting it on Huawei's cloud - which I hesitate to do. I am loath to update either firmware or app since I will probably lose historical data.It does charge very quickly. If I charge while showering that is enough for everyday use with both heart rate and sleep data enabled. The vibration alerts are effective.I would give it 5 stars if the privacy and local backup issues were solved.

Does a lot for a bargain price
I am female, so the smaller size of this compared with other ones I have seen was attractive. This is my first smartwatch. I actually bought it because it had good reviews as a fitness tracker, and I didn't realise it had some smartwatch features too.I find it pretty comfortable to wear, even managing to sleep with it on. It can get caught on things because it's quite thick compared with an average woman's watch (see pics), but I'm getting used to allowing for it when taking rucksacks/blouses off etc. I have a very narrow wrist and although I can adjust the strap to fit, the length of the watch across my wrist is still too long for me so there are small gaps at each end where it doesn't fit snugly against my skin. This may be why whatever I do to adjust the strap, I am not getting accurate heart rate or sleep readings. The heart rate is recorded as too low, so a heart rate of 160-170 in the gym (measured by heart band and equipment) is only registering as 130-138 on the Honor Band. However it seems to be good at picking up changes in heart rate, and so I can still use it as a comparison hour to hour or day to day as long as I don't take the actual reading seriously. I haven't used the detailed sleep tracker yet, but the basic default one does sometimes record me as sleeping when I am awake, I am guessing for the same reason that it thinks my heart rate is lower than it is. But I can still use it to compare day to day and to get a general idea which nights I am sleeping better.I am actually enjoying the smartphone features and find it quite adequate for my current needs. I found it easy to set up with my Huawei phone and can choose what alerts I get through the watch, and the buzzing on my wrist has been useful for realising I have a message when I don't notice the phone vibrating or ringing because it's in my handbag. You can even get the text of a message on the watch screen, though this is quite a basic facility and there is no way to reply through the phone (this is fine for my purposes as it just gives enough information for me to judge whether I want to get my phone out).Battery is OK: it's usually lasting me about 4-5 days before I need to recharge it, and recharging works very quickly. Keeping it paired with the phone all the time does run down the phone battery a bit more, but if you are mainly interested in the fitness tracking you can just connect with bluetooth every now and again to get the data from the phone. It doesn't in any case display your heart rate on the phone (just the time, date, steps, weather (optional), battery status and message/alerts. One of the watch face options has kcal and distance as well, which might be good for runners). One annoying thing is that there are only 4 display options to choose from and none of them are very nice. One of them is a really silly one which has the zodiac sign on. I've ended up sticking with the default one which makes the time easiest to read. The worst thing is that on the default face the date is displayed in US not UK format so you get month no./day no. so you have to remember that 05/04 is not 5th April but 4th May - very confusing and there seems to be no way to change it (I googled a lot). It's a good purchase if you want a cheap smartwatch/fitness tracker and you are not sure whether you will get used to a fitness tracker/smartwatch, and will probably live up to all its promise of accuracy if you have a wider wrist! You can't really go wrong at this price, so unless you have lots of money to throw around, or have very specific requirements for functions this watch doesn't have, I'd recommend giving it a try.

Bad customer service
The above photographed honor band 4 is just 1 week over 6 month old when I queried the stripes that appears all over the screen. The seller advised that they were not bothered as the alleged warranty time is 6 no th which had passed. Don't bother with this one!!!

Fab tracker
I really like this tracker. I did have a cheaper one but upgraded to this as this one is waterproof and also tracks swimming and is a lot better at tracking your sleep. The information you get from your sleep schedule is really useful and is backed up by research from Harvard University (I think that's the right one). Anyway, I highly recommend it especially if you have an Huawei phone aswell

Cheap fitness tracker: gives an indication of values
Order placed on 15 July, 2019 through Amazon for Hongtianyuan. Arrived on 24-July-2019. On 29-July I managed to get the tracker to 'pair', so the tracker's screen was in English and used the tracker on my run for the first time. 30-Jul: problem with pausing and stopping the tracker. 1-Aug: changed the max heart rate setting to 170bpm (was 150) to allow the pausing/stopping function to work better. 2, 3, 4-Aug: much written about the tracker's poor performance. Comparing the runs of 3 and 4 Aug which should have shown differences but did not. 5-Aug returned by post.Points:-*1. The tracker came in a thin, open, plastic container which was wrapped in bubble wrap, without labelling or at least the accustomary paper sheath bearing the item's name. It looked very much as if the tracker had been used by other(s) and was 'returned goods'.*2. The website App gave the new user no introduction to wearing or use of the tracker or the App. Once the new user has made some early mistakes of the App's use, its use only becomes apparent by trial and error.*3. A table of symbols used on the tracker's screen would be most helpful when learning to use the tracker.*4. If GPS is not available, the App should not purport to show the user the distance travelled by displaying graphs of Cadence and Pace, but should display a message to the effect that GPS information must be available for those graphics to be shown.*5. No need of the illumination on the side panels of the watch, which last a minute - in night only. Better instead to have a cheap light sensor to monitor light levels and change light level intensity of tracker's screen. This needs to be brighter in strong sunlight. I know you can fiddle about with the adjustment (from 1 to 3) but it would be much better if this function was automatic.*6. the display of heart rate overrules Workout value; and won't let the workout be terminated until the heart rate is below the maximum heart rate setting. " the tracker does not allow you to use any other function until the heart rate drops below the set maximum heart rate." "The constant monitorng of the heart rate has been causing problems for the tracker as the 'Workout' feature cannot be controlled/monitored when the heart rate feature is over the alarm threshold. So I turned it off." It appears that only one function can be in use at once.*7. Pausing or Ending is confusing: the text needs to be changed. A red cross in a red circle is displayed along with 'paused' and beneath a blue arrow in a blue circle. This could mean either of two things: (1) press the red icon to stop the pausing and carry on with the workout (incorrect) or (2) press the blue arrow to stop the pausing and carry on with the workout. After the red icon has been pressed another decision screen shows the same two icons but with the text changed to 'end?' so in order to stop the session/workout the user now needs to press the blue arrow, whence a display very similar to the workout screen is confusingly displayed showing stored totalled values of various paramters. The user can be easily mistaken that the workout session has not finished.*8. Pace and Cadence graphs should not be shown when satellite data is not available. I found that the distance shown on the tracker was overestimated by between 22% and 32%. For instance the tracker gave no indication of a change in pace between running up hill or down hill! "The pace and cadence are unrealistic and therefore not useful."*9. the tracker's heart rate monitor gave a sudden rise of 35% for no aparent reason: level terrain, steady pace. When I deliberately tried to inject pace in the run, the heart rate did not increase as expected. When running up a steep hill the heart rate increased from 116bpm to 122 bpm; I expected much more of an increase. When going down the same hill sometime later there was no appreciable change in heart rate. It seemed that the only way to reduce the heart rate was by pausing completely and only after 20 to 30 seconds would it then reduce significantly. I cannot rely on the heart rate monitor to give me an accurate reading.*10. battery life: the indication was that the battery needed charging every three days; this was found to be necessary after two workouts of an hour and half an hour and natural time checking per day.*11. the charging arrangement was a bit fiddily in that it was difficult to align the watch in the cradle for the first two or three charges, but it would probably become easier with practice.*12. a surprising feature is the wakeup call for when you have been sitting (in front of a computer!) for more than an hour: an alarm is felt and a recommendation is displayed that the user should get up and be active.*13. The character and icon size are difficult for those without good eyesight. See the images of the screen which are shown larger than life size. It is possible for the manufacturer to increase these sizes significantly for those with poor eyesight and still get the same information displayed on the screen. The list of symbols used would help a great deal to familiarise the new user with poor eyesight and should be included in the App for the new user to find easily.

Honor Band
It would be perfect if it did the exercise for me, but you can't have everything. I like the 'find your phone' function. It also gives a lot of information about my sleep which is not good, but worrying about that isn't going to help. It needs charging once a week. I haven't tried it swimming yet, but will do so soon.
