a riveting compendium of prophesy through the ages
In "Catholic Prophesy", Yves Dupont has done an astounding job in compiling, interpreting, and commenting on the prophesies from the last 2000 years of Catholic tradition, and it is astonishing that they all in essence have the same meaning, and as Dupont points out, communication between large distances in time and place was rare centuries ago, "but all these prophecies say the same thing, and there are hundreds of them !" (pg. 55).The prophecies of Jeanne le Royer (1731-1778), and Anna-Katerina Emmerick (1774-1824) are especially vivid and detailed. There is also a section about a predicted comet, and another on the quatrains of Nostradamus, which are made understandable by Dupont's analysis.Dupont brilliantly puts together all these pieces to make a coherent whole in this small, readable volume. It is also interesting to compare these prophecies with their non-Catholic Christian kin (as in the "Left Behind" series), which are remarkably similar, but with some distinctive differences in interpretation.Dupont's last update for this book was in 1973; I'm sure he would be amazed at how the world has progressed toward the visions he has presented in this volume. Some examples:Dupont wonders how one man could rule Europe (the coming "Great King"), not knowing about the EU, that makes this seem quite reasonable now.The rise of warring "Mohammedans" is a central focus of most of these prophecies. Today this sounds like the daily newscast. It states they will "march into Rome" from Albania...and in recent years the vast influx of Muslim illegal immigrants from Albania has been a huge problem for Italy."Turkey will break its faith with the rest of the Arab world". There is recent news of Turkey entering the EU, which would open the possibility of this.He writes of the "triumph of communism", and though the Soviet Union has "dissolved" since this book was written, it would seem that its atheistic principles have not, and that the anti-religious aspects of communism (which is what these prophesies are concerned with) have simply morphed into the current obsession by secularists to remove God from every fragment of our lives."Aberrations to be found even in the church"; not only have we had the recent pederasty scandals, but a split caused by those who say "the church must be brought up to date and made meaningful to the day's problems", instead of the people rising up to the principles of the church (the last quote comes from St. Anthony's 4th Cent. description of the latter days).Though Jesus told us "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man", He also gave us signs, indicating that we must use discernment in the events of history, and cautions us: "And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch".

This is simply a great book
Hello,I strongly recommend this book to everybody, even to those who are not catholic. This book contains a lot of important information relevant to our times. It is easy to understand that we approach the historic moment when many of these prophecies will be fulfilled. Some of these prophecies were written hundreds of years ago, yet they seem to describe our time in detail. The only point that distorts the interpretation of the prophecies proposed by Ives DuPont is when he speaks about communism. However, we should consider that the book was written a long time ago when communism was very important in the world. These prophecies have been stored by the Holy Catholic Church through the centuries and they are meant to be a convincing proof for those who question the authority of the Pope. The fulfillment of these prophecies will be the ultimate sign to establish that God really exists and that He totally supports the Holy Catholic Church. May God bless you all.

Pagan at best
This purports to be Catholic, but is anything but that. It is based on Nostradamus. Also, the author completely fabricates a quote by Hildegard of Bingen (and a purported comet). It is just stupid

Great Reference
If end times prophecy is your thing you should pick it up. If you happen to be Catholic and into the "end times" movement you should definatly pick this up. Beleive in another cultures 2012 prophecies, cross reference the Prophecy of Popes

Very out of date !
First I was surprised at how small the book is but I managed to read it despite the small print. I read the book carefully and some parts twice to make sure I understood the prophecy and the interpretation by the author..By the end of the book I couldn't help asking myself if any of these Catholic Prophets even read The Book Of Revelation ! They all mention the many wars ,plagues, pestilence famine and a multitude of calamities that will fall on mankind in the near future but to my utter amazement not one of these "Saints" mentions the return of Jesus Christ before-during or after these horrible tribulations. However they all mention a "Great King" HUMAN and a holy Pope will be elected and both will bring a lasting peace and all the remaining survivors will become Catholics. Peace will reign for many years and the earth will slowly be renewed....then the anti-christ will come and start other wars upon the inhabitants of the earth...I can't figure out where these soldiers will come from since 3/4 of the worlds population {BILLIONS} will have already perished from the previously mentioned catastrophes....This book left me completely bewildered about my Catholic Saints and The Book Of Revelation.Instead of increasing my Catholic faith I am more confused than before I read this book.

Catholic Prophecy: The Coming Chastisement
Great Book! The best book out there in my opinion when it comes to Catholic prophecy. Worth reading more than once.

Frightening
As a Catholic I pray daily "Thy kingdom come..." in the Lord's prayer. However, the scenario portrayed in this book is frightening. Will anyone survive to see Our Lord's return? Will anyone be saved to live in Our Lord's kingdom? This book causes me to wonder about our future.
