Directions

On the hob: Rinse the rice with cold water thoroughly before cooking. Add the correct amount of water; 1 cup of rice to 1 1/2 cups of water and bring to the boil. Once boiling, lower the heat and simmer for 12-14 minutes. Remove from heat and leave to stand for 5-10 minutes (still covered). Try using chicken or vegetable stock instead of water to cook the rice, or season the water with herbs or spices for flavoured and lightly coloured rice.
