They seem like they’d fall apart. We will hang them outside, hopefully find some places to be out of direct rain. I’m no bird expert, so not sure if they are too small or not. I think they are ornamental and not functional, but I'm not sure how you'd spot the difference if you were a bird. After a few months the glue weakens, especially if it's rainy. We had the bottoms fall out of 3 of them, but thankfully no birds had ever taken up residence in them. So maybe they are ornamental. Either way, we had a lot of fun with them.
