I bought this ash vacuum as a "gift" for my husband. We have an indoor wood-burning fireplace, which we use almost daily throughout the late fall, winter, and early spring. While my husband loves saving money on our electric bill, I do not love the mess or allergy issues my children and I experience due to ashes filling the air in our home. PROS: The vacuum is extremely easy to assemble and use. There are several attachments of various sizes. The length of both the hose and the electric cord is adequate. The suction is extremely powerful, and the vacuum can be used for both ashes and small wood chips. We use this vacuum to clean inside the fireplace, our hardwood floors, the area rug around the hearth, and the brick hearth itself. My husband also uses it to clean the inside of his electric grill. When cleaning with the ash vacuum, there is no dust or ash flying around in the air, as there is when sweeping or using another type of vacuum. The assembled vacuum is not heavy at all, so it's very easy to move around. I love that we don't have to constantly buy and replace filters and bags as we have with other cleaners. This product cleans quickly, easily, and thoroughly, and is a great value for the price. CONS: The noise level is a bit high, though I would gladly take great suction power over a less powerful, quieter cleaner any day. The hose could be a bit longer, but it's ok as it is. The main issue I have had is with the castors on the bottom of the barrel. For some reason, I haven't been able to figure out how to lock them in place, so they rotate around randomly, which frequently causes the tub to tip over while I'm cleaning. There may be an easy solution to this problem, but I haven't been able to figure it out just yet. Overall, I highly recommend this ash vacuum. It is easy to use and assemble, does a thorough job, has powerful suction, does well filtering ash out of the air, and is a great value for the price.

This vacuum far out performs 3 other models (of a different manufacturer). It has great suction, good tools that apply to pellet stove cleaning... Tight crevices, deep pockets areas. It's perfect weight, even i (100 lb lady) have no trouble bringing in from garage-- clean-- return to garage. Very easy to use, and great value for what we paid. Perfect functionality for pellet, wood stoves, grills, any ash or producing unit.

I was skeptical of this vacuum as I have tried many other vacuums for my pellet stove. All seem to clog the filters up in less and a minute or two due to the ash being very fine from a pellet stove. After I assembled this witch was very easy. I was super impressed I have cleaned my pellet stove 10+ times over the course of a month or so and it has never lost any suction and does not allow any dust or ash to escape the exhaust port. The only reason I am not giving 5 starts is the caster wheels that attach to the bottom of the barrel are very flimsy and don’t sit on well the fall off occasionally if you are carrying it from one place to another. But the cord length, and hose length are perfect and I especially love the brush and crevice tool it comes with. Over all it functions just as advertised and is a great product would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a good vacuum to clean out a pellet stove.

This is a great vacuum! We bought it to clean our wood pellet stove and it does a good job. This is our second heating season using this vacuum to clean our pellet stove. The general 'shop vac' we used before filled the house with enough airborne ash that it was difficult to see across the room when it malfunctioned (frequently). We burn our pellet stove pretty much 24/7 from November through April here in the North Country. we pretty much vacuum the pellet stove every day during that season. I've only needed to empty the vacuum three or four times. It has plenty of power and keeps the air clean.

I got this on Dec 27 so it's been about 1.5 months. I've used it every other day to vacuum out my pellet stove. It's light weight, makes it very easy to carry and keep out of sight after each use. I thought this was just another shop vac which is what I've been using for years. My son and wife finally convinced me to get one of these. WOW!! Where has this been all my pellet burning years? The old shop vac would always spew some ash when I started it up. There is none at all on this vac. It has very powerful suction. I finally decided I should empty it today. It was less than half full but the first filter had very little ash on it and the secondary had none. And it still had full suction. It says you can wash both of them but I just used my compressor blower to get it clean. The ash really doesn't stick to it. There is a gauge to tell you when it's full. I'm not sure how that works out but it says full while it's running and empty when it's idle. There has been a couple times I accidentally sucked up a hot red ash but it didn't burn anything. The first filter does seem to be made of a semi flame retardant material. I did shut it off and wait a few more minutes before continuing. The cord is a good length. It winds up around the handle tight enough to let you get your hand into that handle to carry it. I did notice the cord gets a bit warm when using. It has 3 wheels and some have complained tippiness with it. I have no such issues but I pull it on wood flooring, not carpet. Would I buy it again? Absolutely!! The price was well worth paying. Forget any bad reviews you see on this vac. I'm tough on my stuff and I work them all, hard. This one was no different. If I like it, you will too. I think I'm going to get several years of use from this vac. It also has a brush and flat floor attachment. I will also use this to vacuum my vehicles out too.

I bought this product in 2021 and I see now they’ve changed the description to fit better with its intended use. When I purchased the product it stated it was safe to use with hot coals and did not state “for pellet stoves” anywhere in the description or title. So please keep in mind it will only be good for fine ash and NOT HOT. I came back to the product because I just melted the internal filter and bag filter and needed replacements. This thing nearly started a fire in the process, plastic smoke everywhere. But again, I used it as ORIGINALLY stated in the description. I would never have bought this product with the current description as I was looking for something for my full size wood burner that I could use with hot embers as I run my burner all day and need to clean it out from time to time during this. I had melted the hose a little in the past which I was disappointed about but even when that happened the description still didn’t state cold ash only because I checked. I figured I did something wrong and kept using it. Well now I guess it’s just a pile of garbage to take out and buy something new. I will not trust this brand again as I feel they lied in the original description and I’ve been very lucky I haven’t started this thing on fire in the last 4 years. I’m happy they fixed the description for future customers but please please pay close attention to this so you don’t get into a dangerous situation like I almost did. Very disappointed in my side of this.

Works well. No ash or dust particles made it into the room. Very pleased with the way it works. Fireplace was clean..

Wife wanted this for Christmas - so she got it.(lol) She says it really helps keeping fireplace clean. Ok update it went from 5 stars to 3. Problem the hose attachments are too small and can only pick up very fine ash. If ashes a little larger it stops up the hose. Without any attachments and just the 3foot main hose seems to vacuum fine. Problem is you only have 3feet to work with. Will try to find if they make larger diameter attachments with would be great. Unit works well though.

Excellent suction until the filter clogs up. The filter will clog before the drum is full. When emptying you get covered in ash, so does everything else! I’m looking for a replacement now.

Bought this for a single purpose. Vacuum out my pellet stove. Works as advertised! Sounds like a small jet taking off. Power full for pellet stove cleaning.

A little unstable but otherwise a good unit.. would’ve been better with light gauge aluminum vacuum shaft instead of plastic but still it’s OK..

Rides on three wheels instead of four. Making it pretty tippy since it’s so tall. Also, when vacuuming out my pellet stove, It Has to be fairly clean already. If it takes a big gulp of ash, they will plug off, and you will have to clean the filter before use again. On a good note does not blow any dust out the exhaust.
