It it were't for the electronics, I would have given this device 5 stars. It definitely yanks water out of the air fast, taking the humidity in a very large basement from 65 to 50 in an hour or so. It is probably as quiet as a machine with a mechanical compressor and fan are likely to get in a consumer device - much quieter than the rattling and banging gear from a few years ago.But, the machine falls down in the electronics department. I don't know if it is a defect in my unit or a design problem overall. First, the humidistat is off - way, way off, reading fifteen points higher than the actual humidity. It is consistent across the range, so this is not a huge problem. To keep my basement at 50 percent, I just set the display to 65.The second gotcha is merely irritating. If you shut the humidifier off (not unplug, just hit the power off button) it does not remember your setting. No matter what you had it set to, it resets back to 50 percent, requiring a button pushing session to get it put back to the needed value. If you forget, it will run forever, trying to get the humidity down to 35% - tough to do in this part of the country.Still, for the price, it works good.

I purchased this for my walk out basement. The first day it ran fine and reduced the humidity to around 45%. Then it would never get under 60. Ran non-stop and then the icing on that back coils started. I don't mean frost I mean ICE. I purchased this since it had good reviews, but mine was a lemon.

I set up this dehumidifier in my basement which is quite large. I have to say it is excellent at removing moisture/water from the area and it does it fast. If I could hook up the hose to the back I would because I am emptying the container at least 3 times a day. I didn’t realize I had that much moisture in my finished basement. It has an auto shutoff feature when the container is full which is great. The handle for the container isn’t the best because it could come out of the hole of the container so you have to be careful when moving the full container but otherwise it is nice and doesn’t slosh around. It is not very loud as this is my man cave and I have a tv there and don’t have to raise the volume any more. All in all I have to say this is a very good unit.

As for dehumidifier's intelligent,I gave it a 5 star but have only had it for less than a month. I'll update in a couple months if that changes. Overall I'm satisfied.

This unit froze up the first time I used it. It was being used in a 60 degree basement. The company requested my phone number and address but has never contacted me despite several attempts by me. I would give this company a minus rating if it was possible. Unit is loud, does not display any fault codes. I also purchased the three year protection plan and have had trouble getting a response from them. This unit should be removed from Amazon's items for purchase.

I installed this unit in my basement and it's working well. The compressor is louder than some of the other units I have purchased over the years. I put this unit in my basement so the sound is not an issue. The real test is how long will it last and will the drain hose be prone to clogging. I'll try to update this review after I have more runtime.

I received a defective product - dehumidifier would accrue a block of ice over the filer in a matter of 24 hours. Neither the phone number or the email provided to get a hold of the seller worked. I had no way of getting a hold of the seller. Amazon also tried to get a hold of them. I missed the 30 day return policy so Amazon couldn’t help - kept directing me to a supplier I couldn’t get a hold of. Who cares if I missed the 30 day return policy if the product was defective from day 1?? Bottom line - they sent me a product that didn’t work and I shouldn’t give them $200 for the pleasure of doing so. Amazon finally provided a courtesy return however would only credit me 75% so this hassle cost me $50 plus $15 for a shipping box. A terrible experience.

Nice feature is that it reminds you to dump the water out off tank or it will automatically shut off, seems very safe.
