Nothing to Attach the Leads To
There's a license plate frame, a teeny camera build into it, and a pair of leads which go ... umm, where? Is there something missing, like a monitor to be purchased separately? Is there an app to be downloaded to use your cellphone as a monitor? A website to refer to for more details? There was a leaflet included with the above-listed, which did not reveal any answers. We were left completely baffled by this item.

Great Rear View Camera
I've had this for weeks now and its been an excellent rear view camera. The wide angle on this lens is really impressive- it's wide angle enough that I can basically use it as another rear/side view mirror while driving using an always-on screen; if I see a car coming up behind me in the next lane on this camera, by the time the car is passing me and I can look to my left and see the driver from my own window, I'm just then losing the rear bumper of the car on the camera. It's that wide angle that it basically eliminates blind spots for me. The night vision mode is also fairly useful, although can be a double edged sword- if you're driving on dim roads at night the illumination on this really does make the road light up clean in the camera. However, if you're in a more built up city with lots of street lamps, those tend to bloom out on the camera, making you lose most of your image, as does the headlights of any cars coming up behind you. So, pretty good for reversing out of a dark space, but at night its less useful for covering your blind spots as it is during the daytime. Overall though, very happy with this camera.

Better Than I Had Expected
Honestly, when I first ordered this product I expected the license plate frame to be made of some cheap plastic. It turns out that it is actually made of metal (steel, I believe) and is quite heavy. It's definitely not going to crack or break easily. Nice to know that some things are still built with durability in mind and not just what is cheapest to use.I already have a back-up monitor that is built-in to my car stereo, so I didn't need any type of additional monitor or wiring. This is definitely not a product for you if you have never installed a car stereo or something similar and know nothing about how backup cameras work. If that's the case you would be better off looking for a complete kit with some detailed instructions.Speaking of which, that's one thing that you definitely do not get with this product is detailed instructions. You get a one-page sheet showing where things are theoretically supposed to be connected, but they are very, very general in nature and not of much help if you don't know what you're doing. For those of us who DO know what we are doing, all of the parts and wiring you will need to connect this to a monitor input is included. You'll have to figure out exactly where to attach the leads to your brake light as all cars are a bit different. Once installed the product works quite well. It has a wide enough angle of view to see what you need to. The IR "night vision" works about as well as I would expect. It's similar in quality to most other back-up cameras that I have used in the past, so I cant really complain.

Decent backup camera with a very sturdy frame. Update NOV 2019-the thing is not working properly
Update Nov 2019The image quality has gone down for some reason after only a few months of use. The truck sits for 95% of the day in a shady parking spot. The only time it gets sun is when I'm driving it. I have done less than 2000 miles since this was installed. I will have to replace it since it's unusable.I ordered this to replace my 1YO Esky backup camera which was starting to get foggy every time it rained or was extra humid outside. This made that old one unusable. This comes with a long extension cable which will easily fit most trucks or sedans.Installation is straight forward, if you know what you're doing that is. There are two cables, power and video feed. Power is a regular power jack and video is fed through a RCA jack. In my case it was fairly easy to install since I already had the old wires routed through the whole vehicle to the head unit (I'm using a Pioneer NEX2300).Image quality is ok, not HD, and it does distort some colors like you can see in the pictures. One plus is that it comes with backup lines which can be useful if you calibrate the angle of the camera to reflect real life distances behind your car/truck.Tilting the camera is done by loosening the two Phillips screws on each side of the top part, tilting to the desired position and then retightening.Overall I would say this is a good buy because of the whole frame being made out of sturdy metal, but I wouldhave liked a better sensor and higher resolution.I will be reporting back after I've had it for awhile to see if it holds up to the weather which seems to be their (most backup cameras in general) Achille's heel.
