This pretty case fits so naturally over my Kindle Paperwhite that it seems like a part of the Kindle. I chose this rose design because I love how dramatic the roses, red and pink including almost white, look against the black background. The foliage is primarily dark green, blending closely with the background although there are some white sprigs for contrast. When I flip the front cover open, this wakes up my Kindle which I then swipe to unlock. As soon as it's closed, the Kindle is locked again. This means that if I'm just leaving my reading for a couple of minutes, I leave the cover open. I've also learned that when charging the Kindle to leave the cover open. The first I charged with this case's cover closed, it jammed up the Kindle. To resolve this, I plugged the Kindle back into the computer USB port with the cover open, unplugged, and then was able to get the Kindle to respond as I expected. Since charging with the cover open, I've had no more problems. I rate this cover at 5 stars.

I've to wait and see but this is a flimsy cover. The front part is little more than thin cardboard. Much thinner than a hardcover journal. It does fit the 2018 paperwhite fine and the design is nice but it just feels flimsy and at risk for bending. If your rough on your kindle I'd fork for something a bit beefier.Update January 21 2020After having it for 3 months I've noticed that both bottom corners are chipped and this is with gentle use.

UPDATE: after less than a year the plastic has become brittle and the corners have broken. It wasn't dropped or left in extreme temperatures so I'm pretty disappointed. I'd also like it better if I didn't also have to unlock the Kindle once opened.This case works great! Occasionally it doesn't wake the kindle when it is opened but I am not sure if that is the case or the kindle. I've gotten it wet a few times and the design hasn't worn off or faded. It has traveled well in a purse and kept my kindle from getting scratched. The pictures represented the case and colors accurately

Updated review - 5/28/2020I just noticed it cracked in the corner. I take very good care of my kindle & have never dropped it. Seeing as how it’s lasted less than 4 months I wouldn’t say this is the best quality. You might as well pay extra for one that will last you longer.First impressions - 2/7/2020I like it! I wish the back side of the print was in the front but it’s not bad and looks exactly like the picture. I don’t know about the longevity of it tho. Will update. A lot of people said their corners broke off so we will see!

I really mostly use my kindle in bed. I got the case mostly to protect it in case I dropped it off the bed (and it landing on tile floor), which happens more often than I'd like. Usually it falls behind the bed/wall while I'm sleeping. That being said it does the bare minimum in protecting my Kindle. I've cracked off two corners of the case already from it dropping off the bed, so I don't know how much longer it'll keep, but given the cost I can't complain too much. The few times I've taken it out and about (i.e. doctor's appointments/flights) I've gotten some compliments, so I do think it's pretty lovely. I do like the variety of cover designs, so that's also a perk, but as for sturdiness it's not the best.

This case is gorgeous! It is very colorful as you can see in my photos. If you are a star gazer as I am, this case is a must have. It makes the kindle feel more like a book to me- opening and closing. I needed it to keep the screen safe when I throw it in my bag or whatever. It does add weight but not too terribly much and it feels really balanced while holding it with the cover folded back in my hand. I've not had it long enough to know how it's going to hold up over time but for the $8 I paid, I'm satisfied.

When I bought my paperwhite I knew I wanted a simple cover. I love purple and the design but was super impressed when I got it in. The fit is very snug and the Kindle goes to sleep immediately when closed. This was much more reasonable than other brands but it is not missing in quality. I have dropped or knocked my Kindle onto my concrete floors and there was zero damage to the case or unit. Very happy with the purchase!
